I'm looking online for deals for some housewares stuff and came across
this. Do we really need automatic toothpaste dispensers? And judging by the automatic soap dispensers I've seen in public washrooms, I'm doubting this thing would keep your bathroom counter clean from sticky toothpaste messes.

Re: Is this really necessary?
jwls, I hear ya on the gross mess. BIL somehow gets little bits of toothpaste all over the counter. Nowhere near the sink, the place where his toothpaste stays, or his toothbrush holder. But I imagine this thing would only make those kinds of little messes worse because it'll start spitting out toothpaste at the wrong moments or something like that.
It adds to the awesomeness that we think this store sells stuff that fell off the back of trucks. DH and his university housemates bought some real prizes from this store - cutlery that bent as soon as you tried to cut something, a toaster oven with a singed instruction manual inside it, etc.
