This may be the wrong place to.post this, but i figure you will get.it
I am.currently.hospitalized.until.birth.because i am.having.issues that warrant a highly medicalized pregnancy (twins have developed twin to.twin transfusion). I am not going.to get a natural birth.this.time, or even a vaginal.one (no.flames please....i have not.gone through everything.so far to.risk.their lives with a vaginal.delivery. when.it is.time.for.them.to.come, i.want them.OUT immediately).
My.other.kids however were natural unmedicated.lovely vaginal.births. my dd was 6lbs 4oz and ds was 8lbs 3 oz, so.clearly.my body would be able.to.deal.with birthing.two smaller babiea.if.it.had come.to that.
Today the on.call ob (not mine) makkng rounds started talking.to.me about how these kiddos would.likely need a c-section because.of.my stature (i am 4'11") and my pelvis not being capable.of.fitting.them. WTF lady!!!! She.has never even.seen my pelvis!!!! .i was (still am!) totally horrified!!!! I.told her.i.birthed a 8pounder, no.issues and she seemed shocked. I have read stories.of.obs being like.that, but never encountered one.really. i.can't get over if. Wow..i.feel bad for.women.who blindly trust their.doctors......this.whole.pregnancy has been a huge lesson.in being.your.own best advocate.
Thanks.for.reading....and.good.luck.
Re: ob vent
ugh, that's awful. I've heard stories about those OBs but I was still blown away when my friend, who was planning a 2vbac with a midwife, went to an OB consult and was told that she was stupid to try for a vbac as she "obviously" couldn't fit a baby through her pelvis since her c-section with her first was for failure to progress. She told the OB that she had already had a vbac, with an 11 pound baby no less, and the OB didn't believe her, apparently. Ridiculous.
Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy! Best wishes for healthy babies.
I hate to read stories like that-- it really is real!
I wish you all the best with the births of your babies!! C-sections can be beautiful, too.
No flames for getting a c-section. To me that's the whole point of medical science, is it being available in life-threatening situations.
But ugh your story is frustrating.

Thanks! I am generally not all judgy JUdy, but i do know some natural childbirth advocates in real.life that ARE, and i think that even given my situation, they may be judging (if they get far enough along, i thinm i would have the option of a vaginal delivery)(but until they are out, there is the possibilty for acute ttts to occur, and it could kill both of them within minutes...ugh!..............
i suppose the bottom line is to become educated and make the best decidsions for you and your baby and not judge other moms for their choices....judge those bad obs that don't give the moms good truthful accurate information. it isnsuch a horrible shame that there are so many obs with this attitude! this one was fairly.young too, which seems worse....that some 75 year old set in hisnwaysnone.
It's always sad to hear about providers saying things like this to patients! And so many people don't think twice to question their provider's advice.
Regarding your c-section, don't feel bad or guilty! You need to do what best for you and your babies health!
This!
We have hospitals and options in order deal with situations that need them.
That's terrible that you came across an OB like that, it's always a little shocking to hear such outdated opinions about these things.
