WW mamas who BF-eat all AP and WP?

It sounds like there are a few of us on WW to help lose this baby weight. I just joined a little over a week ago and was wondering how you guys handle activity points and weekly points. Do you eat all of them?

So far I have been eating all my daily points plus my activity points, but trying not to dip into my weekly points. My milk supply seems to be fine (baby has good output, is satisfied and happy after feeding, and I can still pump 4-6 oz when I need to).

Also, how in the heck do you eat out?! I ate out with my husband this weekend and it was SO hard trying to figure out how much I was eating and how many points were in things. Does it just get easier to estimate portion sizes after being on it for awhile?

  • I don't purposely eat my AP or WP's, but I am not super anal about measuring so I know I dip into them some each day/week (I am guessing 2-3 a day).

As for resturaunts, go to www.exercise4weightloss.com.  They have almost all chain resturaunts listed, and if the place lists their nutritional information, the website has it included.  For non-chain places, I'd usually look up a chain equivalent, and use that (ie - having a burger at the local bar and grill, I'd look up the PP for a  burger at say, Applebees).  As long as you aren't going out every night, it will be close enough.

DH and I married 8 years. Mom of three, stepmom of one.

  • I don't eat or count AP because I don't work out purposefully enough.  My exercise right now consists of taking a walk with the LO or rush around cleaning house while she's taking a 20 minute nap etc.

Check out www.dottisweightlosszone.com for restaurant points.  They list points for hundreds of restaurants.  If they don't have what you need most restaurants list nutritional information on their websites and then you can figure out the points from there.

You'll get much better at figuring out points and portion sizes the longer you do it.

Good luck when you really follow the program it really works!

This. The longer you do it, the better you are at figuring points and portions. I am not doing weight watchers right now, but when I did it I lose 20 lbs and wasn't every hungry, felt great, etc. I usually did not dip into my activity points.

  • You will get more points if you are EBF. I weigh about 200 right now and get 44 points a day.

  • You get 14 extra points a day for breastfeeding. I get 40 total per day, plus 49 weekly points to use if I go over my daily points or to save for a night where I know I'm going to eat a lot. So far I haven't noticed a decrease in my supply and am never hungry, although I do have to plan what I'm going to eat, and prepare food more often (so much easier to eat at home, but prepping veggies and fruits and meats takes lots of time)

You can always eat fruits and veggies to fill up if you are low on points by the end of the day because most are zero points. So far I think I am eating healthier because I want to get all my healthy checks in every day AND I consider each food more carefully before eating it, to make sure it is worth the points.
