We have a Honda Oddysey and love it (except for the fact that it's a minivan). Are you looking for something that your whole family can travel in, or just a car to get around? Our other cars (that we use mainly for work, but also when we split the kids up for certain activities) are a honda civic and a nissan versa. I can fit any combination of booster or car seats in the back, it just wouldn't be practical if we were going on vacation anywhere and had to pack luggage.
I don't know anyone who was like "woo hoo I get to drive a minivan!" but it's the most practical thing out there when you have more than 2 kids. You can look at SUV's but they aren't much more space than a car (look strictly at interior cubic feet of storage to see the actual practical room), and they are much more expensive, and crappy on gas mileage.
We have a Toyota 4-runner. It's a tight squeeze but it works. We also have a Nissan Armada that has three rows but its in the states (we could only ship one car to Korea).
We only have one kid right now, but when DH needed a new car we ended up just buying a minivan knowing that we wanted more kids. We bought a Dodge Grand Caravan and LOVE it. We had a station wagon that just wasn't big enough and after looking into SUV's we realized they aren't all that big either. Also, a big thing for us was the price. We ended up getting a fully loaded 2011 minivan for about 10k less then a basic used SUV.
I don't have 3 kids...but thought I'd chime in that I really like my Chrysler Town and Country. Very affordable and it feels like you are driving a nice car rather than a mom-bus. It comes with a lot of standard features and some of the upgrades are so reasonable they are a no-brainer.
Mine has nice things I didn't even know I wanted like...keyless operation (don't ever need to get my keys out of my purse), auto wipers, auto headlights, and built in sun shades in all the back windows.
If you do get a mini van I would definitely put this on the list to try out. As a bonus you are supporting American companies.
Thank you ladies SO much! I'm leaning towards the van. My mom had one when we were growing up. There were 4 of us and it was just so practical with all of our sports equipment and the younger ones' car seats. I think it's time I put my big girl panties on and care less about style and more about what's practical and convenient.
And the prices are hard to beat! I found a used Odyssey for $8500. Only 69,000 miles! Seriously, can't beat it! Now I'm excited. lol
I drive a Toyota Sienna. I love it despite the fact I never thought I'd drive a minivan!
I drove a toyota sienna a few years back while in Oklahoma (rented) and it was SO NICE. I don't know much about cars (and don't know of any others off the top of my head to recommend), but I loved driving it.

SCORE! that is an awesome price for an Oddysey! They last FOREVER! Mine is a 2003 and I haven't had to do anything but routine maintenance since I bought it.
Re: Moms of 3+
This is how I feel! I can't picture myself in a minivan, but everyone that has one loves it! Maybe I will test drive a few.
You should. A lot of other moms like the Honda Odyssey too.

Happy car shopping!
