Re: MoM's to be check in :)
What is your favorite holiday side-dish? Does it sound good to you now that you are a MoM to be or do you feel differently this year about it? Would something else sound better?
this is hard. There are sooo many choices. My dad makes a stuffing every year. It changes every year. One year he made this stuffing with cranberries that was soooo good. He says he is going to make me a special dinner for Christmas since I cant travel for thanksgiving.
Update: Babies have dropped! I can eat again! I feel like I am going to eat the world before my C/S, LOL. All is well on the twin front. They are probably about 6lbs a peice right now. As of our last appt they were 5.6ozs and doing great
. Tomorrow starts my first day of maternity leave. It would have started today if it wasn't for the holiday. Hopefully the boys give me the week to rest before making their appearance!
QOTW: I have not been hungry lately. I like mashed potatoes and sweet potato casserole. Both still sound good right now, but I would get full fast. I'm always so nauseous for the 1st 20 weeks (with all of my pregnancies) that it's exciting to be able to eat something.
Update: I had 2 appts last week. Baby A (boy) was 5.4 lbs and Baby B (girl) was 4.13 lbs. My OB said I was 1 cm dilated. I feel so heavy and have been having contractions. I want them to stay in there longer, but I feel miserable now. I was functional until the end with my single pregnancies. 2 more appts this week.

Mashed potatoes are my all time favorite side dish for every meal. I like them very traditional - potatoes, milk/cream, butter, salt. None of this sour cream and chives and blue cheese and brie crap. If you want fancy mashed potatoes, make a second dish of them.
I think it sounds pretty good right now, but we're never quite sure when Vomitron will come out and play. So maybe Zofran is my favorite side dish?
Update: Had my 13 week apt today. No u/s, but HBs sounded great on doppler, I'm measuring at 18 weeks, and initial numbers from NT scan are good. We'll get the full results next week. If NT is good, we're going to decline the amnio. We're too afraid of m/c.
Also, OB added Senna to my daily assortment of Colace, MOM, prunes, apricots, water, hot lemon water, hot prune juice, and the Squatty Potty. We're hoping that if the constipation can ease up, maybe the nausea will too!
QOTD:
I love everything about Xmas. No favorite food. I love all the desserts
Update:
Not much changed here. Waiting for my NT scan on th 19th. Im still getting sick just about everyday and my MFM is sending me to a nutritionist. Im anxiously awaiting my bump, lol.
DX: PCOS/Recurrent losses/MTHFR mutation (compound hetero)
5 hysteroscopies/2 surgical
3 Inject IUIs = 2 m/c's and 1 BFN
IVF #1= BFP. m/c at 7w6d. Needed 2 D&C's and scar tissue removal. Mild OHSS
IVF #2 = BFP. Severe OHSS. 4 Drainings. TWINS!
QOTD: I loooove cranberry sauce the way my mom makes it (with cranberry jello, pineapple, and walnuts), and since we only ever eat it at Thanksgiving, it just tastes like the holidays.....and I'm looking forward to it as much this year as always.:)
No updates yet....have an OB apt tomorrow and should find out if I passed my 3-hr glucose test. I sure hope I passed b/c then so much for all this talk about yummy holiday food lol!
They stopped checking my cervix at 34 weeks. Said they didn't want to cause infection. Did they use the dildo cam or did they use their fingers?
I like the desserts too! Stuffing would be may favorite side, but it has to be my mom's stuffing.
Update: I have hit a physical activity wall. For the first time I feel like I can't do as much as I used to i.e. chores around the house, walking the dog on our hilly street, etc. I am noticing more BH with more activity. Our next appt is the day before Thanksgiving for a growth scan.
I see my OB and MFM. They stopped cervix checks at 27 weeks at MFM. I told my OB I was having contractions, she decided to check with her fingers. I was 34 weeks last week. I was induced w/my 1st 2, but I never had contractions w/DS1 and only a couple w/DS2 so I was glad to be checked.
Will they not check yours anymore? I haven't heard about stopping b/c of infection. With my 1st 2 single pregnancies, they start cervix checks at 35 weeks. I would think as you got closer, they they would check with their fingers.

Mashed potatoes with gravy. It sounds really good this year and think it will taste amazing!
Update: I had my first OB appointment on Thursday and both babies look great. They were each measuring 9 w exactly (which is where I was at the time), baby A had a heartbeat of 171 and baby b was 173. I don't go back for 3.5 weeks, which seems weird because I've been going so frequently due to IVF. I'm glad to be graduating to the OB.

I love sweet potato casserole and vegetarian stuffing! Pregnant or not, those are my favorite!
Update: Due to the concern about the 25% size discordance between baby A and baby B I had to go in for my first BPP on Thursday. Both babies passed with perfect scores which was very reassuring. I have to go back every Wednesday for BPPs which my boss isn't happy about, but I am glad that my MFM is monitoring the babies closely.
I have also really hit a wall today. My hips are hurting a lot when I stand and walk and I feel like I am walking with a crazy limp. I can't believe I am already measuring full term - I am going to be so big by the time I deliver these babies!
TX: IUI #1-4 = BFN + 1 c/p

QOTW: Mashed potatoes!! Still sounds great to me! I also always love desserts, like pumpkin pie.
Update: Just getting more bodacious by the day!
Little guys are very active, which I love. Next appt. is two weeks from today.
Hi - can I be added to the edd January? We are expecting twin girls (most likely fraternal). 40 weeks is Jan. 25th so our goal now is 38 weeks January 13th.
Thanks!
Update: I saw my OB today and everything was good. I go again in 2 weeks after u/s. I passed the 3 hour glucose test last week, so I'm happy about that!
QOTW: Is pumpkin pie a side?
QOTW: What is your favorite holiday side-dish? Does it sound good to you now that you are a MoM to be or do you feel differently this year about it? Would something else sound better?
There are so many, how to choose one. Probably mashed potatoes. I just love them. Especially with gravy.
Now its 7:40am and I want mashed potatoes.

EDD 02/21/13
09/10/12 Found out it's two Boys!!!! Sam and Jake
Jacob and Samuel born 1/29/13 at 36 weeks.
Update: I had an u/s yesterday to check the boys' amniotic fluid. One was a little high, but I think it's because he was hanging out on one end of his sac rather than being in the middle. MFM wasn't concerned, but did mention it only in case it does become an issue later. Otherwise, the boys' look great. As of this past week, I've feel consistent kicks from all 3 and even a few from the outside. DH thinks he felt them, but isn't really sure what it's supposed to feel like. I'm trying to enjoy the movements now before they become too painful
QOTW: My favorite holiday dish is twice baked potatoes. My grandma made them every xmas eve and it's the only thing I like to eat as a kid (hated mashed potatoes and ham). Since I don't want to travel for Thanksgiving, my family is coming to our house and I plan to have twice baked potatoes. Yum. Can't wait!

8/10 1st u/s - It's triplets!
Mashed potatoes and this cucumber dish my grandmother makes are my favorite side dishes!
Update: nothing much over here. My ob did a fetal fibronectin test this past wednesday which came up negative. I have a growth scan in two weeks but that is about it.
QOTW: Green bean casserole! I could eat an entire pan by myself when I'm not pregnant! I'm usually the one in the fam who will make it so I'll have to scrounge up the energy this year or I have a feeling there will be none!
Update: Quick check-up yesterday and everyone is doing great. The doc said that there's a good chance we go all the way to 38 weeks which is of course great but also makes me a little exhausted just thinking about it. I feel guilty thinking it but holy cow I'm nervous about how much more uncomfortable I'll get!
Update: I had two appts last week. The MFM is fairly certain he saw the membrane between the two babies. And the sonographer thinks they are girls. I saw the ob on friday and she gave me zofran, bless her! And gave me the great news that our hospital up here is finally getting a NICU later this month! So relieved! She also took a quick peek at the babies on u/s and thinks she sees the membrane now too. So good appts. Both babies are measuring on track or a little ahead depending on the measurement.
For mobile users, as of Tues 11/13 I am 15w 3d.
TTC since May 2006. After 3 failed Clomid cycles, 2 failed Injectibles/IUIs, 2 failed IVFs and 1 failed FET, we moved on to adoption!
Last ditch FET resulted in BFP, and identical twin girls!
I love it all! Stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy, cranberry sauce, sweet potatoes - I can't pick just one!
No update. I have an appt. with my MFM tomorrow. Hopefully everyone is doing well!
TTC #1 since May 2010. BFP #1 - 5/31/10; m/c on 7/22/10
Started seeing RE in August 2011
5 IUIs: BFN; IVF #1 - Success! BFP - 7/25/12
Hi everyone. I am new to this board but have lurked a bit and hang out a lot on my BMB. I'm technically due with twins May 10, 2013 (but just had to remind my boss that I will most likely deliver in April). I'm 14w5d and can't wait until our next ultrasound on Dec. 6 to find out the sex(es) of our fraternal twins!
My favorite holiday side dish is without a doubt stuffing. Cooked inside the turkey. MMMM. It sounds amazing right now. My m/s and nausea were never really that bad, and were completely gone by about 11 weeks, and cravings haven't really started yet, so no other sides sound better than stuffing!
What is your favorite holiday side-dish? Does it sound good to you now that you are a MoM to be or do you feel differently this year about it? Would something else sound better?
Every food for Thanksgiving is my favorite and I could eat it all right now!
My boys are here!! They arrived by c-section on 11/2/12. Max was 6 lb. even born at 11:44 a.m. and Leo was 7 lb. even born two minutes later. Everything went pretty smoothly during the delivery and then in recovery I started bleeding a lot, but luckily I got to breastfeed both of them before they were sent to the nursery and I had to stay in the recovery area until around 8 p.m. that evening. EBF has been challenging, but it is definitely getting better. We almost didn't get to leave the hospital with the boys because the day we were scheduled to leave our pediatrician forgot to come release us and the hospital neonatologist wanted to keep the boys because they had lost just over 10 percent of their birth weight. My milk had only come in the night before though, so they did let us go home and we have had two appointments with the pediatrician for weight checks and both boys are gaining weight nicely. I'm a little scared for when my husband goes back to work after Thanksgiving, but we are so in love and couldn't be happier with our new family!
