Adjusting to Time Change

It's been a few days since the time change, but I'm curious what everyone is doing with the sleep schedule.  Before the time change, DS went down at 7:30.  Sunday and Monday night, he made it to 7pm (8pm according to his internal clock).  But tonight, he's out like a light at 6pm (which I don't really mind tonight as I'm sick and am enjoying some extra time to chill).  Now I'm unsure if it's a wise thing to try to push his bedtime back or if I should just adjust it to 6:30.

What have you done with bedtime with the time change?  Have you tried keeping it the same, or have you tried pushing it back to match the current time?

Re: Adjusting to Time Change

  • We tried to keep her up later the two weeks going into the time change. It helped some but she is still off a little bit from her regular schedule

  • We kept DD up late the night before. We haven't had any issues since then but DD is also a pretty good sleeper normally.

  • I welcomed the time change.

DD has gradually been moving her bed time more and more and as of late has been going to bed at 10 pm! So with the time change, there she was, tired at now 9pm, it worked out well and I didn't really need to/want to do anything about it, I just let it go.

  • We didnt change anything. We tried to get him to bed a little earlier last night since I noticed some eye rubs earlier than normal, but with the post-Sandy commuting nightmare and just life in general, it didnt happen. Hopefully tonight since Im working from home.

He is definitely waking up an hour earlier though since his internal clock hasnt adjusted yet.

  • We kept our DD's bedtime the same, which is 8pm. She's usually a pretty good sleeper (with the occasional wake-up once during the night), but as of the past week, she has been sleeping like a rock & a little later than normal. Not complaining about this at all!
