Last Thursday (25 weeks) I went in for my weekly cervical length check and the cervix measured at 2mm!!! I was also 1 cm dilated. I was told to go to the hospital immediately. I checked in at the hospital and started to have contractions that would not stop. They immediately gave me a steroid injection and decided to put me on Magnesium Sulfate for 48 hours. Mag is a tough one to deal with, but it seems like all the medication is working. Contractions have gotten much better but I will be in the hospital until I deliver. I am currently on Procardia and indocin, and those seem to be helping to keep the uterus under control.
The good news is the baby boys look good and their hearts are strong. I am trying to stay positive and remind myself why I need to do this. I keep ultrasound photos of the boys by my bed and that is always the best reminder
This year has been the most challenging year of my life. From losing our first pg, going through IVF, being placed on home bed rest at 18 weeks, and now hospital bed rest at 25 weeks. I am so looking forward to bringing my baby boys home happy and healthy

Hope you all are having a great Monday

I can't imagine going back on mag - I'm sorry you have been on it twice
The procardia seems to be helping with me too so hopefully I just have to stay on this until we are ready to deliver. Of course we want to go as long as we can but our first goal is making it to 28 weeks then 32 weeks. It feels like a lifetime away.
Any suggestions on what things you can do to make the days go by? Anything would be helpful!

Yeah twice on mag was terrible! I was on it when I first was admitted, went home after 3 weeks for 22 hours only! I woke up and was bleeding again and contracting. Smalls goals are good, 28 is good then 30, then 32 and so on.
Dh tries to come up here as often as he can with ds. Dh and I play rummy when ds is sleeping. I got netflix on my computer and started crocheting to pass time. I also put on my calendar things that are happening during the week even if it is just who is visiting that day just so I have things to look foward too!
Stay strong, you are doing what is best for you and your little ones! Oh and cry when you need to! There will be plenty of times when you will break down and that is ok!
oh, wow. i am glad you are under good care, i am sure it is tough. i'm wishing you a very long, very uneventful hospital bed rest!

Thanks so much! It is nice to know I am not alone and there has been some good success that comes with hospital bed rest.
Thank you for the suggestions of things to occupy the time. Right now I am hooked uo to some IV and pulse/oxygen that it is hard to do much of anything. Hopefully this stuff can come out so I can use my hands!
I really hope the rest of your bed rest goes by quickly?
