Do you have a name for your unborn baby? We've affectionately called baby our "little minion" and that is what we call him/her anytime I'm talking about baby bc we don't know the sex yet. How about you?
My friends called it "bean" when we found out we were pregnant and changed to "beanette" after we found out that she's a girl. I generally refer to her on my blog as "baby girl"
He's been Cletus the Fetus (or just Cletus) for a while now. I really hope that doesn't stick after he's born, but I'm enjoying it for now.

Don't ask why but when DH and I first started dating, we jokingly said we'd name out future child Alexa or John Paul. So since LO is a boy we call him "JP"

Minion was what DH and I called our firstborn in utero. Even my blog/journal posts refer to her as Minion. SIL made a little onesie that had "Minion" written on it for after she was born, too.
DD#2 we referred to as Parasite, Perry for short. Again, that name made its way into journal posts for the longest time until we settled on a name, but I'd still call her Perry on occasion. That name didn't last outside, though.
This time around, I call him "Little Spawn". DH thinks it's a silly name and wanted "Thing", but I refused. Hey, I spend the most time talking to him, so I get to pick what I want. ;-)
Just baby girl... which is kind of a joke because last time, my husband called him/her Baby Girl the whole pregnancy and I kept saying it was a boy...it was (we didn't find out). This time, we've told everyone we're not finding out, but just my husband and I know....it IS a girl. So, now we both call it baby girl or Zoe or Piper...trying to decide on a name.
I was 7 or 8 weeks pregnant when I told my family I was pregnant this year (we were on vacation together for the week), and at the time the baby was the size of a blueberry so everyone started referring to the baby as "blueberry". Looks like it stuck because my cousins still ask me how blueberry is doing, even though the baby is now the size of a banana
Before we knew it was a girl, we called the baby bump " Velociraptor." Her father and I have very strong personalities and I have a huge laugh like a hyenna. We would joke that our kid would be this loud, crazy being. So that is how we thought of the Velociraptor dinosaur and the nickname just stuck.
We did the same thing. We found out when the baby was the size of a poppyseed. So we started off with the name poppyseed and has mutated over the last few months into this...
poppyseed --> das poppyseed --> da poppy --> ploppy --> dah plops --> plops
Once we knew the sex, we started calling him by his name. Prior to that, we just called him "baby". Creative, I know! I still refer to him as baby a lot of the time.

I started out with Sweet Pea because the baby looked like a pea on first U/S I had. My DD was Sugar Muffin, and that has stuck, I still call her that five years later.
We call DD1 "Nugget", so I told DH this one has to be Small Fry or Tater Tot. He hasn't picked one.. so I've been calling her Small Fry Or "The sequel".

we call her poppy and have since I told DH I was pregnant and the baby was the size of a poppy seed. Everyone calls her poppy, since we are'/t announcing her name until birth
Uschi. It's the German nickname for Ursula (and translates to little she bear) but that will not be her name. Long story...but we love it and will probably continue to call her that after her birth...no matter what we actually name her.
He goes by a number of names, but the most common one is Rocky.... first, because our last name rhymes with "rude," so..... "Rocky Rude?" *groan* And the second, more recent reason is because he punches me a lot, so DH says he's clearly training. Ow.
But the main reason we use a nickname at all is to keep people off our backs about our real name choice(s).
"Can I call your baby 'Ze Munchkin,' or 'ZM' for short?" - my best friend
Having an in-utero nickname is a tradition in my family. We were going to go with Rico, since the baby was conceived in Puerto Rico, but changed it to Rickie to be more gender-neutral. (Good thing we did since it's a girl!) We will not share their real name until LO is born.
