Fat Feet & Extra Wide Shoes

DS has fat feet and the ONLY pair of shoes he owns are a pair of XW New Balances, not wide but extra wide. Of course they're great for everyday wear, but with the holidays coming up I want some nicer shoes for him, especially since we're having pictures made a few times. What other brands come in XW? I tried Stride Rites and we couldn't even get his foot in. It's exhausting trying to find him shoes since he hates having to take his shoes off and put them right back on.
