I looked a few pages back and did not see this question, but sorry if you get it a lot. How long did your doc/MW tell you to wait before getting pregnant again? Mine said 1 year, but a friend of mine told me hers said she should wait 18-24 months. We want our kids pretty close together, but I want to be safe and smart about it as well. Just curious what others have been told.

Do you want to have a VBAC or csection? If so then they recommend 1824 months between births. Otherwise I think they say 1 year.

Mine never told me an exact time, nor did I ask, but when I was pregnant almost exactly 1 year later, she said I'd probably have a repeat, but as I got closer we could talk about it and see how things were looking/progressing, etc.

My doc never gave me any "don't do this" tips and seemed fine if I were to get pregnant again right away (not my intention, but no warnings not to). I have read that if you are going for RCS to give it at least a year so that your uterus doesn't dramatically thin therefore making it unsafe for more pregnancies. I'd ask your OB though!

I lost my first baby (full term) and had an emergency c-section. My doctor said a few months...whenever I get my period again. I think we're going to wait at least 3 months before we try.

I got pg with #2 just shy of 8 months after my first c/s.

I asked at my 6 week PP visit and my ob said whenever I wanted to as most the healing had occured already. This was likely due to me having an easy pregnancy/delivery/recovery and being young/in good shape. I would ask your dr his/her rec based on your own health history.

my OB told me to wait a year between #2 and #3 (if there is one). But she said we could start TTC any time (I have history of IF). She said if I got pg before the year it was really not a big deal.
