Boppy Pillow and My Brest Friend

My friend who has 2 babies recommended registering for both of these items, so I did and received both of them at my shower. But now I'm wondering, do I really need both? It seems like the Boppy Pillow seems more versatile since you can use it for breastfeeding and for resting the baby. STMs, do you think I also need the Brest Friend?

I absolutely HATED my boppy with my girls. It didn't provide enough support under them, and I never used it on the floor with the baby laying in it (I had a bouncy chair, swing, etc, for that). I got the MBF this time around, and when I was testing it out by holding my friend's baby while it was around my waist, I felt like it was going to provide more support, plus it is wider and it buckles, so when I stood up, it didn't fall.

See, this is the problem with an item like that- so personal! I hated the Brest Friend and absolutely loved the boppy. I used it from the time I got it (4 weeks PP) until I stopped nursing her on her first birthday!

I say since they were gifts, keep both. If you like both then you have one in the baby's room and one elsewhere to save you carting it around like I had to!

I haven't used either but I got both. I plan to use the my Brest friend for feeding and the boppy for when my husband and others hold her or just for her to sit in.

i looked into both for DD1, and ended up getting a boppy... I LOVED it and plan to use it again for DD2.

I have both. With DD1 I only had the Boppy. It was great, however I had heard the Brest Friend works well for those w/longer torsos, as it can be attached and is more stable. I ended up using both with DD2. Kept one upstairs & one downstairs. I'll bring the boppy to the hospital.

I have, used, and love(d) both. I actually just pulled them both out again tonight and put on the clean fresh covers. Love them. I used the Brest Friend for the first couple of months exclusively, and then less often but still from time to time after that. It's great b/c you can strap it to you and walk around with it on, continuing to nurse. The Boppy is awesome for it's versatility and my son would fall asleep nursing and I could just slide him off my lap on it. I think holding onto both is a good idea, especially since you received both.

I'm not a STM but I have a friend that has worked as an LC forever! And she says No to the Boppy and totally recommends my Breast Friend.

A FTM, but wanted to chime in... I registered for, and received, both. I figured, if I like the Boppy for BFing, then great. If not, I can use it to prop the baby for tummy time/lounging.

I did try them both before I got too big and preferred the Brest Friend, which I did not expect, honestly. Soon we'll see how they work for their intended purpose.
