My LO's will be 3 in November and still in cribs. Feedbanck on what you switched to if they were later in transitioning. I am not planning on transitioning until close to there 3rd bday. I just don't know if we should do toddler beds which our crib convert in to or just go straight to twin bed. Thoughts or opinions. Thanks!
Re: toddler bed or twin
We transitioned to a toddler bed when DD was 2. At that point, she wasn't ready for a twin bed. Now, she probably is but we'll keep her in the toddler bed for a while longer.
But in your case, it might make sense to go ahead with a twin so you don't have to transition twice.
This. We switched to twins when LO was about 18 months.

ITA. It just depends on if you want to buy twin beds now or later, really. And if you think you'll use the cribs again.
With DD, she was climbing out of her crib at 18 mo, so we switched to the toddler bed (The transition was much easier than I thought it was going to be!)
Now with LO2 on the way, our plan is to buy DD a twin bed, and change her bed back into a crib. I'm going to try to find a relatively low twin bed, though, b/c she does still fall out occasionally.
We went with a toddler bed, mostly for space reasons. I had DS in June and we plan to move in the next couple of years so we opted to wait on purchasing nice big girl furniture set and stuck with a toddler bed and two dressers. We transitioned DD last week she is 2 and ?. Personally I like the toddler bed better because she Is low to the ground and I am not going to freak if she has an accident when PTing. Even with waterproof covers I have known several people who have had issues with mattresses. Additionally, toddlers can be rough on furniture so I woud rather wait on an expensive set. DD is 37 inches and has plenty of room. My friend?s DD is around 40 inches and is still in a crib. I am guessing DD will fit in the toddler bed until she is 4 or 5. We plan to build a house so we will make a big deal that she gets to help create her new room and therefore I am not worried about a transition. if we were already in our forever home I may have went with a twin bed.
