Does anybody know anything about estradiol?

I'm trying to become a little more informed about immunology before our appointment later this month. So of course I go to Katharine. This is what Katharine does to me:

So, I started looking through the copies of my records I got from my RE because I couldn't remember if I had my ANAs tested. As I'm going through the lab reports, I'm noticing that my mid-cycle estradiol has been high every single time it's been tested. The lab report says the normal range is 118-355, and I've got a 477, 480, 834, 513, 530. I was never told anything about my estradiol being out of the normal range. (I also noticed a couple times where my progresterone was low and nobody said anything either.)

What does this mean? Help me not lose my sh?t. Cause I'm pretty furious right now.

ETA: I typed the high number for the normal range wrong, so they're not as high as they appeared. Still high though. Especially that 834...WTF?

I got nothing on the estrogen levels other than my sh!t would be flipping out too. And googling. lots and lots of googling. I'm surprised it was never discussed with you. You may be on to something though with your muscus theory. Estradiol And CM go hand in hand. But I would also ask are these medicated cycle levels? That may or may not be relevant... I don't know. Maybe that's why your RE doesn't think they are a big deal?

I don't have any info for you, but can relate to the being furious part. I saw an RE for 4 months before she ever mentioned that my AMH was low which leads to low ovarian reserve. I was so, so angry. We switched RE's at that point. So, I'd be angry too if I were you. The doctor totally should have mentioned those results. Hope someone here can help with your questions. Hugs!

Yes, they were medicated cycles - clomid.

You totally need to put that in your siggy.

I'm assuming that these estradiol levels coincided with medicated cycles? Your body produces more estradiol as your follicles become more mature. I believe that a 18mm follicle should have an estradiol level between 200 and 600. Your numbers seem decent, but the one in the 800s seems a bit high. My RE probably would have cancelled that cycle for us. My estradiol for this injectibles cycle was up near 500 and was deemed "perfect" by my RE.

Hope you don't mind if I chime in...

You say the levels were taken mid-cycle so I take this to mean before O. Your estrogen rises and peaks before ovulation and if these were medicated cycles, you probably had multiples follicles just not all mature. Estrogen is what helps produce your fertile CM and build your plush ute lining. There are a few different times to test your level...CD3 helps detect if there are any egg productions issues and while monitoring a cycle for ovulation (see previous comment about peaking before O). I think sometimes they check it after O as I believe it also helps support your lining and pregnancy should conception and implantation occur.

Now...your progesterone you said was also low. If this was taken at the same pre-O time in your cycle, it means nothing. Only at 6/7 dpo is this number valid.
