How far along were you when you found out you're having more than one baby? My grandpa is a twin & my husbands grandma is a twin. She warned me the other day that its "our generation" this time. So now I'm a little worried....
Thanks! I am only 4 weeks, so there are a couple more weeks until i go to the doctor. Twins would be a blessing, but ill still be a little worried until that first ultrasound.
P.S. Your husband's family having twins has nothing to do with whether or not you will. Grandma is misinformed.
This is true....it all comes down to your genes....and I believe that gene would be carried from your mother's side so it might depend on which grandpa was a twin (I could be wrong about this though). Of course, identicals can happen to anyone.
I found out at 7 weeks so it shouldn't be long for you. Good luck!

And pp's are correct that twins in your husband's family, or identical twins in yours, don't impact your chances of having twins. Also, the idea that twins "skip a generation" is a myth.
We found out at 7 weeks. They missed the second sac at both our 5 and 6 week ultrasounds.
After 2 years of trying with PCOS, 7 rounds of Clomid/Femara, and 2 early miscarriages, we finally found success. Due on April 24, 2013!

Baby A measuring 6w4d, Baby B measuring 6w6d
exactly at 6 wks at an u/s. If all the twins are on you H's side, it has no bearing on you. If it were on your maternal side, that would be different. GL!

Correct. My ID twins just showed up out of the blue - it never occurred to me there'd be more than one in there.
I had an ultrasound a 7ish weeks due to some bleeding. Otherwise it probably would have been at the a/s!
Saving money while raising more kids than you bargained for!
