DD was about 6 weeks old when she got really fussy - it was mostly around dinner time. DS started at about 1 week. I have been pretty nervous about it, since DD used to fall asleep all the time without any help (until the fussy period). I talked to the pediatrician today and they assured me that all babies are different and DS is "normal".
However, I am still worried. Is it "normal" for a 2 week old to cry and cry for over an hour? He did this tonight, and though there were periods where he calmed down, but mostly kept right on crying. I even saw tears. My heart was breaking that I couldn't calm him down (tried nursing, tried the paci, tried multiple positions, tried swaddling, music box, etc). I don't think it's something in my milk, but i suppose it could be something I'm eating. I'm also on antibiotics for a post-partum infection, but I don't think that's it either. The rational mom in me tells me it's normal, but the paranoid mom in me tells me there must be something wrong.
So, did this happen with your kids?
Re: When did your baby start getting fussy?
Yep. They both reared their ugly heads here at 2w.
Have you read/watched the Happiest Baby on the Block? The 5Ss were a lifesaver.
