WOW. I wonder what the stats would be for same situation, only inducing labor. Much cheaper, I'm sure, but I wonder how many inductions it would take to save a shoulder injury. My last dr. pressured me on this very point (to induce at 40 weeks for an est. 8 lb baby) and I said no way! Baby was born 7lb14oz at 41 weeks.

Wow! So glad to read ur estimate was off. I've been told my baby will be 8lb13 if I carry to full term which is this Sunday. For a 4'11 95lb woman that size baby sounds scary but I keep telling myself u/s can be off and regardless of baby's size there is nothing to suggest I can't birth a big baby. It's unfortunately docs choose to scare you this way!

Iris427 is really small under 5", and her VBAC baby was over 8lbs. You'll do great!

I've told the board this before and I used it as guiding point during my last natural birth.

My mother is 4'11 and had me as an unmedicated VBAC, I was born 9 lbs 10 oz 21 3/4 in.

If my mom could birth me, most of us can birth our babies with no problem. Yes there can be issues with some baby/mom ratios, but it's still good to know that it can be done safely and everyone in fine health.
