Hey dads and dads to be! We are having our first child and wondered what kind of gift I can give my husband? He sells JD farm equipment, played college baseball, and loves to play guitar. Any fun, new dad presents I can get him? I thought a pocket watch was a typical "dad" thing to have but he got handed his grandfathers when he passed so that shot that idea. Thanks or the help, sorry to jump on your board for this!

Re: Present for new dad?
Honestly, new dads don't need anything. I am not expecting anything and most dads here have said they didn't either. Birthing our children for us is more than a gift in itself.
But if you feel inclined, my wife got me a "Real Make Make Girls" tshirt I really like.
This is cool, Dads don't want gifts...it's kind of weird for your wife who just pushed a kid out she carried for almost 10 months to give you a gift. Our real contribution up to this point was a gift all by itself. We got some sexy time....
Agreed, save the money for the baby and just tell him he's a good dad.
If you MUST get a gift, here are the ideas I love:
1) PICTURES of the kid, or anything with a picture of the kid.
2) https://ball-one.com/Home_Page.html shared by someone on this board.
3) If you are religious, a book or Bible about Men, and being dad.
Ladies, in all seriousness....
While we love that our wives or SO's think of us, this is really the one time that we do not want a gift, or recognition of any kind really. Our focus is on the birth process and maing sure that we are there for you ladies. Once I saw my son for the first time, nothing anywhere in the woeld could compete with that moment.
Please...no gifts!! Our focus is elsewhere, as it should be. Our gift is having our family healthy and happy at that moment in time. Nothing can ever compare to that joy....NOTHING!!
