BIG KIDS SCHOOL AGE CHECK IN

We don't have a whole lot of members for this check in so I am doing them every couple of weeks.

 If you are new and jumping in WELCOME!! Just let us know how old your kiddo is and what grade level! 

Anything new going on in our Big SIbs worlds???

    YES!!!!  I am legally allowed to post her pics on my pages and soon hopefully very soon I will leagally be Mommy for real!!  Like on paper as mother, not protective guardian, not step mom, not care giver, but MOM!!!  WOOT WOOT!!! 

    I know that this is bittersweet for Katelyn but she says that the happy that I "picked to be her mommy is much bigger than any sad that she has"

    I am sad for her that after 7 years it finally boiled down to termination of her BM's rights but it is best for her, and I am thrilled to know that she wanted me to adopt her officially, we did let her decide. 

     How is behavior going, any issues or accomplishments?

    After months of rought behavior in school we are trying a new approach, since she seems to only misbehave after her work is done and she is bored, she is being paired with a little boy who is having a difficult time in class.

    She will be allowed to help him learn his work!!!  She is sooo proud as am I. 

     How did their school pics turn out??

    I dunno I have't gotten them but the one in my siggy, was that morning so at least her outfit and hair were cute before school Wink

    We are putting her in counseling for the whole BM thing...We are hoping it helps..

    DS is doing ok. He's a freshman in hs and I'm petrified of the temptations/peer pressure he is or will be faced with. I just hope he can make positive choices. His birth father isn't around lately [he's really not doing well on most every level], and I worry about how this affects DS. We will also be returning to counseling, so DS can vent to someone about his dad.

    School pics came out great! They take them before school starts here [for jr high and hs]. We got them a while ago.

    Pottermommy...I'm glad things are going well for your dd in school and home. I don't know all the back story, but it sounds like you are fighting for her best interest.
