Moving On - Who is still Losing Hair?

I thought this would be over by now. It even seemed like my hair was starting to grow back but I started losing in a few patches again. Am I alone?

Re: Moving On - Who is still Losing Hair?

  • I could make a sweater, although, it is FINALLY beginning to slow. You'd think that being PG again it would have stopped.  :(

  • I was finally in regrowth mode- or so I thought- until about a month or two ago. Now it's falling out again... sigh

Lame. I'm glad to hear it is normal, though. I've had some weight loss issues and I thought the two might have been related.

  • I am in regrowth mode, but it seems to have stalled. Hopefully this means that its not going to start falling out again.

I also had to laugh at the East West coast options.

  • I could resist selecting "I'm on the West Coast," but I'm totally still losing massive amounts of hair.

  • Bahahaha!  Too funny!  I love the options that you put forth.

I lost an absolute ton of hair, but it stopped when C was around 7 or 8 months.  But now the hair is growing out, and it doesn't look that good when I pull it back into a pony.

I voted for 'see a dr', especially if you are having weight loss issues.  These are both signs of hypothyroid disorder.  Are your eyebrows thinning at the ends?  Are you feeling sluggish, no energy?  It wouldn't hurt to go see your Dr. for a simple blood test to test your levels.

Good tip. I have an annual scheduled in three weeks and I'll talk to my doctor about the weight loss.

I'm low energy but DD is an early riser (5:45ish each day). So I kind of chalked it up to that. My eyebrows are regularly threaded so I don't know if they're thinner than usual.

I know I'm not going to get a lot of pity, here, but I think I'm losing too much weight. I'm eight pounds below my pp weight and, while DH seems to enjoy a slender me, he has also made a few comments about my hips being pointier than he remembered. I'm certainly not over doing it on diet and exercise. I feel like I'm lazier and eat worse food than ever. The trainer at my gym recommended more protein and less coffee, which might be suppressing my appetite.

  • Oops, I thought that you were having a hard time loosing weight.  Well, you prob. won't be hypo then.  I'm not sure if hair loss is a symptom of hyperthyroid (overactive).  I know that weight loss is, though.

  • Mine just started growing back a little bit ago. Now I have these great little areas of weridly short hair. Like next to my ears, for example, so I have little curls just sticking out everywhere. Motherhood keeps you humble!
  • I'm still shedding like a dog.  The drain in my tub is constantly filled with my hair and it grosses me out.  My co-workers are always pulling my hair off my sweaters - thanks!

Are you or did you BF?  I'm still BFing and have lost an extra 10ish lbs beyond my PP weight in just the last few weeks, I assume because she's taking in less.  Maybe that's what's going on?

Regardless still good to bring up with your doc.

I didn't/don't. DD was FF from birth until her first birthday. I'm a mystery wrapped in a riddle.

  • I was going to write this exact post this afternoon. Literally.

  • I shed like a dog. More than my dog. I kinda think it's normal, though.
