Parenting after a Loss

Success!!!!!

Charlie slept in her crib all night last night!!!!!!! It took me 3 tries at her 4am feeding to get her to go to sleep and stay asleep but all in all I count it as a success. She lept from 11:30ish to 3:45 and then 5:10 to 7:30 and then snuggled in bed with me from then til 10:20. Not bad for 3 weeks old I'd have to say.

Re: Success!!!!!

  • That's great!  Did you start with naps first?  I still need to make the transition, but I'm full of excuses not to.  Current excuse - I'm sick and need to sleep (which I think is a reasonable excuse, but who knows what excuse I'll use next).

Naptime is still in my lap or in the swing or car seat.  Once she starts consistently sleeping in her crib at night we'll work on naptime. Her naptimes are still so unpredictable and we typically have so much going on during the day it's hard to put her down in the crib consistently during the day.

Thanks!  That's how I feel too. I'm just afraid to lose the 9+ hour stretch I'm getting at night.
