When did you have your shower?

Before anyone thinks im totally bonkers for worrying about this so early, Im only asking because we are planning a huge renovation to the house starting in January which probably wont be done till early April, lol. (Im due May 30th)

My MFM said he wont let me go longer than 37w. I know typically baby showers I have been to are around 8 weeks before their due dates. But from reading here you girls have said you can get really uncomfortable earlier than a singleton pregnancy.

My mom and sister have asked and I was thinking around the 25-27w mark? What do you think?

I had one shower around 26 weeks and the other was around 29. Normally I would say that's too early, but when you're carrying multiples you never know what'll happen bed rest-wise so I think your time frame would make total sense.

I had mine at 30 weeks and I was worried that it was going to be too late, but it actually was perfect. I felt great and had a blast. I didn't start to really get uncomfortable until 32 weeks or so.

I think that's perfect! Mine was at 26 weeks and I was already starting to feel heavy and uncomfortable. Also, you just never know what's going to happen the further along you get with multiples. I was totally fine for almost 30 weeks then woke up one day with a broken sac and was on hospital bed rest for the rest of my pregnancy.

I don't think you are thinking about it too early. It's good to have a plan. I told family that I didn't want to wait forever and be super uncomfortable at my shower so we are doing it the day before I hit 25 weeks. Should be good timing from what I've seen on the boards. Plus with twins you never know what could happen.

After reading posts here, we decided early February. I'll be 25 weeks, it'll be at our place, so hopefully even if I'm ungainly and uncomfortable it'll be okay.

Family have also asked me to have my registry done by Thanksgiving.

I'm having mine on Sunday, so almost 30 weeks and I have been so nervous but I think the timing has worked out perfectly...

It can be a gamble though, you just never know...

I am having my first one this Saturday at 27 weeks 6 days. I am feeling pretty good except for back pain, swelling feet, and feeling tired. After the shower I plan on doing nothing! But I know I'll be fine during the shower moving around and talking to people.

My second one is at 29 weeks 6 days.

Mine will be in the first half of February when I'm between 2527 weeks. It will be in my hometown which is a 4.5 hour drive from where I live though, so am a little worried that maybe I should do it even earlier!

You're not crazy to be thinking about it now! I'd say 25-27 weeks is perfect. I had one at 27 weeks, one at 31 weeks, and one at 32 weeks. The 27 week one was by far the best timed. By the second two I was diagnosed with gestational diabetes which cut down on my enjoyment of the showers, plus it was just difficult to move around and be pleasant for prolonged periods of time.

Mine was at 34 weeks which I don't recommend. It was the only time that worked for everyone sadly. I ended up in L&D from traveling such a long distance and the doctor basically told me NO traveling past 30mins til the boys are born.

28 weeks. If you're waiting on gifts to finish your nursery, I'd say 28 is verging on perfect timing. I would def not do one after 30 weeks if you're waiting for those nursery gifts.

I had my shower at 27 weeks and I am glad that I did. At this point I am already big, tired and slowing down so I am glad that I had it while I still have the energy to set up the nursery and get everything else we will need. Plus, with the risk of bed rest I didn't want to cut it too close to the 30 week mark.

We had our first one at 24 weeks exactly and that was good. The travel out of town for it was very hard but overall I was able to move around easily and not feel too uncomfortable.

Our next one will be at 29 almost 30 weeks and I am already dreading it. It is an hour car ride away and to be in the car now for 20 minutes is brutal. Plus it is our largest one (co-ed with kids) so I am concerned about being able to be up and around to see everyone. It is mainly out doors (under a covered area with fireplaces and furnaces) but I am concerned about the weather.

I think you are timing it perfectly. You should still have a nice sized bump to show off but be comfortable enough to enjoy the shower.

I think 25-27 weeks is perfect (especially if you will be traveling to your shower). I asked for mine to be scheduled at 26 weeks, which I thought was early enough. As it turns out, I had to go on modified bed rest at 25 weeks (luckily, the doctor allowed me to go to my shower anyway and all was well). You never know what can happen with a multiple pregnancy, so the earlier the better for your shower!

That sounds like a great time. I had mine at 25 wks and felt great....plus it was nice to know that there was all this time to start organizing gifts, washing clothes, setting up the nursery etc. With multiples you just never know what's gonna happen or how you're gonna be feeling from one week to the next.

My shower is taking place at 30W exactly. It is later than I would have liked. The reason it got pushed out because the ideal time for it is December, and with the holidays, everyone thought December was a bad time. I felt like Dec. 1st would have been perfect for me, and that would have been 25 weeks. I think 25-27W is perfect. I really wanted it before 28 weeks.

Mine was at 26 weeks and I was put out on bed rest at 21. Made things quite difficult but we made it work. I delivered at 33w so I was quite relieved that was had it when we did. With multiples I think the earlier the better!

Mine will be at 27 weeks, seems like the timing will be just about right.
