Does anyone else get residual cysts after cycles?
For two cycles now I have gotten residual cysts. NEVER in my life have I been told I have one. Even the year I went through treatments and got pregnant with our twins (that we lost at 18 weeks). This time around I had a natural IUI and they found a cyst that was hormonally active and it gave me a VERY long cycle. then I just did an IUI + Follistim and produced 3 follicles which left behind 3 residual cysts. I know my RE says its very common and not at all bad but it delays things and is frustrating. I have to go on the pill now for a week and a half to get rid of them before starting follistim again.
I'm just wondering if this happens to anyone else as it never before happened to me until recently. Even though our RE says not to worry about it, it makes me feel like something is wrong with me....well something ELSE that's wrong with me

Yes I had them every injectible cycle (follistim) when we did IUIs and I assume I've had them after every IVF, but I have to wait longer to return to cycle, so... I never know.
It's pretty common and it sucks.
Depending on your ability to wait, mine went away in 1 cycle. So I'd do an IUI - BFN, then wait a cycle and they'd be gone without going on the pill. But some women need the pill to help decrease them.

Long story: trying on our own + testing testing testing with 6 rounds of Clomid, more testing, injectables + TI, laparoscopy - one tube blocked, 2 IUIs with Follistim...BFNs.
RPL testing all normal, Karyotyping normal
Moving on to IVF.
IVF #1 April 2012 = BFN, IVF #2 June 2012 = BFP. U/S 7/23 = saw heartbeat but measuring behind. Follow up U/S on 7/30 - no heartbeat. D&C 8/2. Trisomy 12. IVF #3 Oct 2012 = Chemical Pregnancy
Phone consult with CCRM on 12/12/12 - ODWU 1/4/13 - both tubes clear(!) - AFC 24, AMH 3.2, FSH 9.6, LH 5.4, E2 25. DH has high frag rate but improved!
IVF #4 March 2013 CCRM. EP protocol w/ Menopur, Gonal-F & Dexamethasone. ER 3/29 & IMSI, PICSI. 43R 13M 10F 6blasts bio'd. CCS testing reveals 3 normals!!!
FET 5/31/13 of 1 4AA blast - thawed and expanded. 4dp5dt BFP.
Beta 9dp5dt = 181, 11dp5dt = 427. 1st u/s showed a healthy heartbeat! EDD 2/16/14
After 4 years of hoping and heartbreak, our sweet little bean was born on 2/19/14

I had them last cycle and it was so frustrating. The pamphlet my RE gave me says the cysts are "the result of very tired ovaries after stimulation" which made me even more upset.
I opted to not take the BC. The untreated cycle was really short too, lasting 21 days. When I went in this week the ultrasound showed the cysts were gone so now we are at it again.
I am going to assume I will have to take breaks every other cycle. This way I won't have the big ugly cry again next cycle when the nurse tells me its a bust.
