Leg shaving poll

Was listening to Dr. Jenn's radio show at lunch and this girl called saying it was too cold to shave her legs and her BF was complaining about it.  I think she expected Dr. Jenn to take her side, but she didn't and told the girl she needed to keep up with her grooming.  I was on the girl's side!  It is too cold to shave, it grows back too fast when it's cold, etc.  I shave like once a week in the winter.  How about you?[Poll]

I shave every day. I hate stubble.

Ha!  I don't think my "It's too cold to shave" excuse holds water when you shave every day and live somewhere freezing!

  • I shave evry time I need to shave, which is every few days. If I go a week without shaving that's a lot. I don't like it at all.
  • I shave every few days in the summer or winter. I don't like the way my legs feel when they have stubble on them. Ick.
  • My leg hair is fine and light.  I only shave once a week in the summer.  In the winter, I like to shave on the weekends but sometimes don't if I'm rushed or don't think they'll be touched.  :)
  • Every single day. I hate body hair. I despise that stubble feeling when wearing jeans or pajama pants. I just never feel comfortable.

  • You don't have my option there, which is once a week. I have light blond hair so it isn't visible and doesn't grow fast, but it annoys me with tights/pantyhose.

  • I shave everytime I shower. I do it for myself.

  • The only reason I am shaving once a week is because DD has swimming lessons, otherwise it might be every ten days or so. I have dark hair and a lot of it, but I just don't care and neither does DH. I remember when we were first dating and I shaved everything and he was like "why would you do that, you are supposed to have hair, it serves a purpose." He didn't have to say that twice, I've lived byt hat moto ever since.
  • This reminds me of a girl I went to high school with who didn't shave in the winter because she needed the extra hair for warmth.

I have a "shave schedule."  During the summer, when I live in tanks/shorts I shave my legs every other day.  During the spring and fall, they get shaved Sundays and Wednesdays.  During the winter, I only shave my legs on Sundays.

  • I get really bad eczema in the winter months. I go back and forth between believing the razor makes it worse and believing the exfoliation makes it better.

It usually takes about a week to get around to shaving in the winter. In the summer, I do it every other day.

  • I shave once a week during the winter. I would probably agree with Blu's shaving schedule. And sometimes I only shave the knees and down (the hair on my thighs is fine and blonde).

    Confession:

You all know I'm kind of cheap... anyways on Tuesday I was using a dull razor, I should have just thrown out.  Let's just say the bits are barking today.  It burns so bad I put Lanisoh on it, that didn't help.

Blu, I wish I was as organized and scheduled as you.

Organized and scheduled = anxiety disorder.  You don't want to be like me.  I promise.

  • Honestly, MH could care less about the condition of my leg hair. If he complained I might be more conscious of it. We've discussed it and he cares more about keeping my vag groomed but even that he really doesn't care.
  • My leg hair totally changed after giving birth. I used to have fine blonde hair, then it hardly grew for about 5 months, and now it's dark and seems to grow half an inch in a week! It's hard to find the time to shave since I shower with L but I try to do it twice a week.

  • I just defuzzed for the first time in like a month today.  I've been wearing pants for weeks now and DH and I don't have sex often, so I don't see the point.

    that sounds so liberating.

since I'm single now, no one's touching me other than DS so I only shave when I wear something that shows my legs. If I had the time or energy, I'd do it more often just because it makes me feel better.

  • I shave my legs like twice a year. Ever since I got pregnant with ds1 I dont grow leg hair.. Weird but awesome

  • So, we are on the couch watching TV and DH is rubbing my leg that's on his lap, under my sweatpants.  He pushes up my sweatpant and does a double take at my hairy leg, looks at me and says, " I wasn't expecting that".  I guess it's time to make a waxing appointment...

  • I shave my legs every 2 to 3 days which is about how long it takes for me to start showing stubble. I only grow leg hair from the knees down, though, so it's quick and easy. I hate the feeling of hairy legs. I shave my arm pits every day. If I have any pit stubble at all it skeeves me out big time.
