TTC and OCD/depression/anxiety = Zoloft

Hi Girls,

This is my first post every. I have been tried to look up more info on woman who are on meds for OCD. Everytime I look up "antidepressants" it always shows people with depression. Not everyone realizes that antidepressants can be used to treat other things as well.

One OBGYN told me I def. had to get off my meds. I was originally on 250 mg... thats ALOT. Then when he told me, I weaned myself off it... which put me into a spiral of hell. My shrink told me not to get off it. She put it as "if you know why youre on the meds, then dont get off them."

So here I am, TTC... Im on 100 mg of Zoloft now. I believe I might have had a miscarriage, but not certain.

Does anyone else take meds and have any outcomes? Im so worried, but I feel as though the mother has to be healthy to have a healthy baby as well...

    I believe there are lots of women on this site that have taken Zoloft during pregnancy.  It's considered one of the safest ADs for pregnancy and breastfeeding.

    It would be best to talk to a psychiatrist since they are know these medications instead of your OB/Gyne who is not.

    My OB actually prescribed me Zoloft. 50mg so a very low dose. I personally decided I wanted to wait to take it until I go to a psychiatrist but since it sounds like you already have one I wouldn't worry about it too much. If nothing else maybe try a lower dose but if you need it I don't recommend stopping it completely. Good luck I know it's a tough decision.
