Registry question - bottles

I'm going out to register this weekend and I'm trying to make a list.

I know that you really don't know what bottles a baby will like until they start using them but what are some good ones you found that I should start with?

Also, any other tips/useful items I should be registering for?

Thanks ladies!

Re: Registry question - bottles

  • Not sure if you're planning on BF or FF, but I really liked the Medela bottles because they fit well with my breast pump and accessories and are easy to wash with minimal parts.

  • We got starter packs of Tommee Tippee and Dr. Brown's. We also got some freebie Avent and Playtex. Our boys both took to Dr. Brown's without any issues. They are also BF and have not had any issues with nipple confusion or bottle refusal.

  • With my son we used Nuk and playtex ventaire. They had the slowest flow that we could find to help with my son's reflux.

  • We used medelas in the beginning, and moved to Playtex Advents when they started collasping the nipples.
  • We used BornFree. They worked really great for us.

  • We used Dr. Brown's.  We tried the avent and they flat out refused.  They also weren't big fans of the Medela bottles.  If you're pumping, you can pump directly into the Dr. Brown bottles as well as teh Medela bottles.
  • Most people will suggest trying a few different types which makes sense but I registered on,y for dr browns and they took them from the beginning, even with using the hospital nipples in the, nicu and trying to breastfeed as well. Not sure if I got lucky or if they're just that good. A lot of people don't like them bc of all the parts but I love them. We don't have a lot of spit up issues/gas etc not sure if its related but they seem to work for us!
