NPS: Non-Partisian Political Vent.

M'kay, I know this isn't preschool related but,

I find it difficult this election because my views on life aren't in line all the way with the many friends/family believe.  I call my self "non party affiliated" because my thoughts on life are very mixed, I don't believe life is black and white - and when one calls themselves "Democrat" or "Republican" they are actually hard left or right.

I am offended by some of what my hard right & hard left winged friends & family say.  I thought that I could have an open discussion with others about my feelings,  they were speaking - and I brought up how I felt - like a "mob mentality" though the conversations started to turn.  When I noticed this, I just "yes'd" them until the cows came home, and tried to deflect the conversation entirely.  

Do you find yourself among people like this sometimes? 

I am so glad I know who I am voting for, and I hope that the leader of the country whoever it may be in the end, leads us well.

    Right?! My friends age group of 30somethings seem to have opposing views but can have respectful reasonable discussions amongst eachother.

    I have just had to make it a habit to never discuss religion or politics with my family. DH's and my view are just very different from the rest of my family. If someone brings up either during a family function, I have just learned to stay out of it. I'd prefer to focus on all that we have in common and not harp on all the stuff we disagree on.

    I find it much easier to just excuse myself until the topic changes which is pretty easy to do since my kid never sits still for two seconds anyways. In more captive situations like during a big family dinner, I just get up and offer to grab seconds, dessert, etc. for anyone who wants them.
