Anyone feeling a lot more lazy?

I just have been feeling really lazy lately and can't get myself to go to class or work. Is anyone else feeling this way? Are there any tips for getting energy?

Re: Anyone feeling a lot more lazy?

  • Getting up in the morning has been tough. I'm also not a morning person so that doesn't help. At work, it's difficult because by mid to late afternoon, my body starts wanting to slow down and this is generally the time I am most active.

What's helped me: is taking my vitamins in the morning with bfast. It could be mental but I feel like it gets me going. And I try to eat healthy snacks every few hours (cottage cheese, yogurt, apple sauce, fruit, 1 slice of whole wheat toast with almond butter) to keep my energy level up.

I've also read that exercising/keeping more active helps.

  • Also, I try to get as much sleep as possible! I know it's tough for many people with work, school, other children. But I'm seriously asleep 5 out of 7 days a week by 9:30pm. (I wake up between 5:30 and 6am for work.) Recently on the weekends I try to take a half hour (or hour, whatever) power nap. So if you can get around 8 hours of sleep, it may make the mornings less brutal.

  • Taking a nap when I can is my saving grace.  Thankfully, DH is home in the afternoon to wrangle DD if she won't nap so I can.

  • I was feeling like that too.  I'm finally getting away from it.  Although, I've been feeling a little sick so now I'm not eating much - and not having lots of energy.  Oh well....  :)  It will pass!

  • Ughh! Me too. Thank the Lord I work from home and decided to do half time instead of full time for school this term. Working full time and part time in school is hard enough. I push snooze 5 times in the morning and then Im good until noon when I nap and then by 3 I am exhausted again.

  • Going to the gym has really helped me with my energy levels.  It is a huge fight for me to get up and go, but I feel so much better after.

  • No advice here, but I too am laying around like an oaf. I keep telling myself that I will have energy again someday.

  • I'm so lazy! I was 1st tri with my 1st pregnancy too. 2Nd tri I had way more energy. My advice is when/if you can be lazy and relax....do it and don't feel bad about it!! I nap every day when my DS naps. It's great!
  • Me!! Its horrible.

  • YES.  And I can't stand it.  I have zero motivation.  I get up in the morning and take a shower and I feel like I have to lay back down because I don't have any energy.  It's horrible.  Right now all I want to do is sleeeeeeep.

Also DD has decided the past 4 days or so it's cool to wake up 2 hours earlier than she used to.  I mean I was super lucky and she would sleep until almost 9, but now she's waking up betwen 6:45 and 7.  WHY!!!??!!!

ETA: I should say that it doesn't really have to do with turning the clocks back.  She's going to bed normal time, taking normal naps.  It's just randomly "hey mom! I'm awake now!".  Boo.

  • Yes, super lazy. I took a 2 hour nap yesterday and still felt tired at bedtime.

  • I'm definitely suffering from some serious lazy.  When I do finally motivate myself to do something, I find that I feel much better for a while - but it's still not quite incentive enough to get moving, sadly.

  • I'm queen of lazy. It's so hard for me to wake up in the morning, no matter how early I fall asleep :(

  • Oh completely lazy! I'm lucky I'm a SAHM so if I need to have a lazy pj day I can do so (which there have been many lately). You kind of just have to push through.
