We used Breastflow. You will know when it is time for LO to move up to the next stage of nipple. It seems weird, but they start taking a much longer amount of time to finish a bottle. DD went from 10 minutes or so to 20 minutes or more. Some breastfeeders even start out with a premie nipple I think.
She loved avent! I bought some evenflo ones but during a feeding the whole top came off and formula all in her face. I thought it was on to lose so I made another bottle and double checked the top and the same thing happened! We also use avent nipples. And went by age that comes on the pack.
I'm going to try to breast feed again but for pumping I'm hoping he likes the same bottles,
We've been using Dr. Brown's. We started with some of the smaller 4 oz bottles. I know a lot of people don't even bother with the smaller ones, but a few were nice to have on hand early on. DS was on Level 1 nipples for several months...maybe up to 5 or 6 months. I can't exactly remember. He's now on the Level 3 nipples.

We used Dr Brown's after trying the Tommie tippie. Loved the Dr Brown's.
We stayed at a level 1 for a long time. DS1 was EBF unless I was at work and he got pumped BM. They say to keep babies at the lowest level to mimic the flow of the breast. It's slower than a fast flow bottle. I think he was like 8 or 9 months when we switched to a level 2. You'll know to switch when its taking your baby much longer than normal to finish a bottle and their cranky about it.
Depends on baby and if you bf or formula feed. We just used the bottles that fit my pump and Gerber slow flow (preemie or level 1) nipples the entire time. Our bottles were medela/gerber mix.
for the babies who were supposed to switch over to BFing. Our transition to BFing never really worked, but those continued to be the only kind of nipples DD would drink from. It was pretty annoying, actually, since I can't get them in stores and had to order online. I don't even know if they're available in the US.

We had bought Avent bottles and teats but for about 8 weeks he found them too large and hard and cldnt take them at all. So we ended up getting some Nuk teats and bottles of our own just for those early weeks. DS has been fine with Avent since about 2mths and still takes them.
If we need to supplement/pump we will start Delilah off with the NUK brand and then move up to Avent when she can manage.
We used Avent and she liked them just fine, but once we started her on the bottle she would no longer nurse, so that was a bummer for me, I had to switch to exclusively pumping instead of only pumping at work. It kinda sucks to have to give your baby a bottle propped on the boppy while you're next to her pumping....much more efficient to just nurse the baby! I don't know that different nipples would have made any difference though.
She stayed on level 1 nipples for a long time, 6 or 7 months. She still gets one bottle a day and it is still only level 2, we never needed to go higher.
DS1 preferred Tommee Tippee, and I'm hoping DS2 is the same! They were very easy for us to go back and forth from bottles at daycare to the breast when I was at home. I actually used the slowest flow nipples the entire time that DS1 got a bottle, that way he never felt like a bottle was faster than breast. It worked out great for us.
With DS #2, we used the Playtex nursers. I much preferred the nursers (much easier to clean and they heat up quicker because you're only heating through a thin plastic bag versus thicker plastic or glass). Because I breastfed #2, we kept him on the level 1, or slow flow nipple until he weaned from the bottle.
I nursed so we used Breastflow exclusively. I actually don't remember changing nipple sizes as he got older, I'll have to dig out my bottle stuff and see what I have. I think we started the training cup (NUK learner with handles) around 6 or 7 months because he wanted to hold his bottle/cup himself.
I love these because they are self steralizing (as in they beak down and you just have to put them in the microwave not a big plastic thingy for it.) and also because we used the MAM Pacifiers (the link is of the gift set they have at walmart they are pretty sweet sauce if i may say so myself)
When DD was alittle older we switched her to what we called "The portable Boobie"
She really liked these ones, the reason we didnt start with these is that they wernt out when we were looking for bottles. but she switched between the MAM and the Lansinoh bottles super easy.
in the end it's really going to be up to your baby what bottle and or nipple her or she prefers. We orrigionally tired the playtex drop in's with DD and every nipple we tried with those made her gag and leak while she ate. So just listen to your baby and they'll let you know what they like ^^
I said, "Oh my, what a marvelous tune" It was the best night, never would forget how we moved. The whole place was dressed to the nines, And we were dancing, dancing Like we're made of starlight Like we're made of starlight. ~TS

I think we changed her to the level 2 nipples for the Playtex Nursers around 5 months? It was around when she started solids.

We used Avent or the Similac bottles. The wider the nipple, the better.
Oh, and we used the playtex drop-ins for breastmilk. She did really good with those bottles.

In the NICU they used NIP cherry nipples https://www.mytoys.de/Nip-Sauger-Standard-Latex-Cherry-rund-Gr-1-Tee/Flaschenzubeh%C3%B6r/Mahlzeit/KID/de-mt.ba.ca02.09.13.02/1824365

For DS the hospital gave us readymade formula in bottles with NUK nipples which he took to perfectly.
