Spending the night in L&D

I am 32 weeks today and my blood pressure was high at my appointment today - 146/98 so, combined with all my swelling, they sent me to L&D. But no protein in my urine. 

I am a little irritated because I think my blood pressure was high because it was hot in my OBs office and I was in a cruddy mood. By the time they wheeled me over to L&D, it was down to 133/77. However, it went way up again because they had me on my back in uncomfortable positions trying to get both girls on the monitors. 

So... I get to spend the night and do a 24 hour urine screen. Hopefully it will all be clear and I wil get to go home tomorrow evening.

This sucks. My best friend just flew in this morning for a visit too.

Oh well. It will be fine. I have my laptop so maybe I will catch up on a little work and bill some hours.  

Single Mother by Choice. Life didn't work out the way I planned so I did it on my own. IUI #s 1-3, unmedicated = BFN, IUI #s 4-6, 50mg Clomid, Ovidrel = BFN IVF #1: 23R, 20M, 17F. 5 day transfer 2 blasts. 2 Snowbabies BFP 6dp5dt, Beta #1 7dp5dt = 58, Beta #2 9dp5dt = 114, Beta #3 10dp5dt = 187 1st Ultrasound = 5/3, not much to see yet. 2nd Ultrasound = 5/17, TWINS!!! Hospital Bed Rest at 32 weeks due to pre-ecclampsia and severe edema. Audrey Grace, 5lbs9oz, & Lydia Louise, 6lbs, born via emergency c-section on 12/6/12 at 36w1d My IVF Journey

    Hope you and the girls are okay and that you get to go home soon and see your friend!

    Oh no Melle...hope everything is ok with you and the girls so you are able to go home and visit with your friend!!

    ME:46 MH:44 DE IVF 2014
    Met with RE 4/11. 2 IUI's BFN. DE best option. Switched clinics to do "shared" program. Had to retake all tests and a mamm that put me behind and then on a DE waiting list for 12 months. Picked a donor!! (10/13/13) Got matched. Estimated transfer in December. After 2.5 years of patiently waiting I will finally cycle....can hardly believe it. DE cycle got cancelled. One of her tests came back positive.  Waiting for another donor. Donor picked!! (1/18/14)

    DE IVF #1 (4/26) BFN  DE FET #1 (6/4) BFP! Beta 1=339 Beta 2=852 Beta 3=9957 EDD 2/22/15!!

    I hope all is okay.  I guess better safe than sorry.  I had to spend a Wed night and half a day on a Thurs with the 24 hour urine test and that Friday was my induction date...they wouldn't induce me early or let me go home.  I was so annoyed as everything was fine.

    I did get sleeping pills though...I would highly recommend going that route :)

    hang in there, mama! same thing happened to me at my 32w appt, except i did have protein, so that was near the end for me. hopefully you'll be home tomorrow and will be able to hang out with your friend a bunch. :)

    The same thing happened to me at 34 weeks, I wasn't dropping any protein but had swelling and high bp.  I was admitted and then sent home on bedrest, I was able to make it another 5 days.  REST as much as you can and even if you feel fine REST!!!  Good luck mama! :)

    I'm sorry this is happening - especially where things are going smoothly and you have company. But FWIW, I have high (for me) BP and my entire OBs office is blowing me off about it. Better to be safe than sorry...you've been through too much to take chances Wink

    I hate when they put me on my back.  I have to use my coat as a pillow EVERYTIME.  Do they not realize how painful it is??!  That would totally jack my pressure up.   We try to be nice and not go all crazy preggo lady on them..

    TTC since Oct 08. DH Dx w/testicular cancer March 09.
    MFI due to retrograde ejaculation/azoospermia.
    5/2 IVF #1 cancelled due to large follie.
    6/14 start Lupron for IVF #1.2. 6/22 start stims.
    7/4 ER and Biopsy.
    7/9 Transferred 2 (1-4BB and 1-3BB) embryos.  4 frosties.
    7/15 +HPT 6dp5dt. 7/18 Beta #1: 193. 7/20 Beta #2: 415.
    8/10 1st u/s - It's triplets!
