I've been growing my hair out for some time now. Not for any particular reason, but mostly because I can't find a hairstyle I like. I need something that's easy but looks professional and good. My hair is now down to my waist and has no style whatsoever.
Part of the problem is whenever I go to a stylist, they always want me to tell them exactly what I want and I just don't know.
I admit I'm as far from stylish as anyone can get, so any input would be appreciated.
Here's what I look like so you can see the shape of my face:

And my hair. It's an old picture--doesn't usually have that much body and it's really thin.

My style is pretty boring too, and I have ridiculously thick, wavy hair so I'm no help! I do recommend finding a good salon and working with your stylist. I just switched my salon and couldn't be happier. I went in with no pictures and told my new stylist I needed some professional with easy upkeep and the ability to pull up in a pony tail. She did a wonderful job and I'm so happy. The salon was a little pricier than I would've liked to pay, but the outcome was well worth it!
Thanks.
How much do you ladies pay for a decent cut? The last time I went to someone a friemd suggested, I paid 45 and got the same cut as when I went to Great Clips.

I have this as well...lots of layers. I can't go too short bc I have kind of wavy hair. It will look great on you. Also, if you plan on going short, maybe you can consider donating to "locks of love" since you have such long hair. I can never get my hair to that length but would love to donate.
My hair kind of fluffs out when short and I look like a mushroom.
I do plan on donating; I've done it 3 times already. Not sure if I'll do LOL, though. I'd kind of like to find one that makes wigs for cancer patients.
