We had PT conferences on Monday. DD1's teacher said she's a joy to have in class, that she is absolutely on track for kindy, she's advocating for herself more, and that "all the kids want to play with Sophie." On the upside - friends, yay! I kind of wish she was having to work a little harder because I think it'd be better for her skills, but I know that will come, so I'm just going to enjoy this.
She is getting competitive! She kicked a goal in her last soccer game, and now she's more likely to crab about how she doesn't get to the ball first or how the other girls won't let her kick it than just lay down on the field.
She kept trying to cheat at Candyland the other night, saying she'd pulled cards that let her go straight to the candy castle (no such thing!) when she was getting behind and knew she wouldn't win. LOL. We're working on being a good sport.
And ... our Floortime/SLP came last week for a session with our sitter, to familiarize her with some ideas for play during her time with Sophie. We hadn't seen her in about six weeks. She was really impressed by Sophie's progress and how much more animated she is, and said, "If I didn't know her history ..." and just trailed off with a shrug. My heart squeezed a little.
The daycare teacher informed me that DS recognizes letters of the alphabet. I told her maybe it is his special needs school and his Leappad computer toy.
I am proud of him!
I was down that there was nothing DS has done to be proud about.
We have been having problems with our daycare provider (communication between morning and afternoon staff). They weren't giving G her last bottle, or didn't have anything written on her sheet and couldn't tell us anything when we went to go pick her up. I called my DH and cried after I picked him up, as she needs those calories, and my DH went and had a meeting with the Director. I am so proud that he stood up and advocated for what we needed. He is not the best with approach, so we may be looking for another provider (because they sounded really defensive and weren't willing to work with us), but my DH made me super proud!

We visited my sister this weekend it was an 8.5 hour drive there and and an 8hr 10min drive back. DS handled the drive amazingly. He watched one movie each leg, took a 2 hr nap on one leg, and spent the rest of the time playing and chatting with me about everything. It was just the 2 of us so I was a little nervous.
While there my sister told me no less than 10 times she thinks he is well behaved.
DH went to his parent teacher conference while we were driving back and said his teacher had such wonderful things to say.
Today he really told me about his day with little prompting. He played catch on the playground with Molly. The ball had Iron Man on it. Inside he played in the pizza parlor center with JoJo. They were cooking.: :
Twice this week, Chris has walked into a room and said "Hi XXXXX". Once it was "Hi Mommy" and once it was "Hi Dannny" (Danny is "Daddy" - that's not DH's name but that's how Chris says daddy).
Also he and his baby brother played with a toy together WITHOUT Chris trying to shove him out of the way. For about 2-3 minutes but it was something.
Re: Brag Day Wednesday!
It was a pretty big week over here!
