Need Guidance (Re: Tipping personal stylists)

Would you tip the personal stylist at Nordstrom? I checked on the internet and I am getting different results. Some say that you do not tip these people since they are working for the store and get commission off of whatever you buy. Others say you should tip. Last week the stylist spent about 1.5 hours with me and I ended up with some great fitting clothes that I just love. I didn't tip her but there is still time to send a thank you card and a check. WWYD?

    When I was in bricks and mortar retail buying offices, the personal shoppers would get tips from their clients. Though maybe not as high a as you'd tip a waiter, or hairdresser, since they are also making commission.

    My sister works in HR at Nordstrom in Miami and used to be a stylist there. I just asked her and she said they are not allowed to accept tips and that only shoe shine and restaurant staff may accept them.

    Yes the bolded. You could still send her a thank you though. Maybe even give her a box of chocolates or cookies? (I don't know if that's allowed)
