I love the comments from one guy Jim Devine or something like that, saying they deserved it in the end for endangering lives and for not choosing a local hospital...Im sure he'd still say the same thing if he were in their position. Im jus glad Im getting induced on Monday, that way I don't have to worry about cops on all three hwys I need to take to get to the hospitals.
oh my god. seriously? SERIOUSLY. i would have spit in his face. i would have been like you want me to lift up my shirt? sexual harassment buddy. go f yourself!
Tsk, tsk...I hope she learned her lesson and learns to wait in line every other woman in labor. Jeez. You start giving laboring women rights and everyone's going to want a piece of the pie...this is probably because she's allowed to vote....women!
But, playing devils advocate here, anyone who watches Cops, or who knows someone in law enforcement, people lie ALL THE TIME when they are breaking the law. It's unfortunate.
The guy is definitely a jackass... but, I think they're sort of stupid for picking a hospital so far away, too (unless they needed to for insurance purposes or whatever...)

i can see your point, such as the crack ho, who says she doesn't do the crack which is found 10 seconds later and is "not mine!", but with the prego belly, and contractions, I may have at least given them a hospital escort, then see who lies.

Again, devils advocate, how does the cop know she is having contractions? And, we all have PG bellies and could lie right now about being in labor if we wanted to try and get out of something (if we were sneaky like that). It really is a shame all the excuses cops hear on a day to day basis. You go to any major city where there is a pile-up on the highway and people would try anything to get around it.
All I'm saying is that it is a sad that so many people cry wolf about crap that this officer actually doubted that she was PG and thought they were feeding him a lie. Or, it could just be a power trip!
I agree that one of the other police cars should have provided an escort!
In Boston your hospital my be far away - mine is a 40 minute drive from my house with traffic - my insurance is such that that is the only hospital I can deliver at - as well as being the best hospital for several states around.
Damn straight I'll deal with a "long" drive to get to my hospital.
And OK it's breaking a law but it's ONLY driving in a breakdown lane & there was a giant PG lady in the car - it's not that serious of a law.

The cop is an effing jacka$$ - I too live in Boston - everyone is outraged.
Can you imagine??? I would have started acting and played up my pain & pretended that I was not OK - what a f*cker.
Who the F does that dude think he is? Arrogant cop. Some things are more important than a ticket - hopefully his karma will be shite.
Two words:
Power Trip

They had permission from other state troopers, and were following previous instructions.
