Any moms still only breastfeeding? How is going for you? Are you supplementing?
I am considering trying something in the evening as lil miss has decided to turn into the night time watch! I guess I took the sleeping through the night for granted! Then it seems like all I do is feed her from 4-7 @^@
Hope all is well with everyone
Re: Let's talk breastfeeding.....
I'm still breastfeeding. My baby doesn't STTN so I feel like I'm attached to him all night. He is eating one veggie a day. I'm pumping while at work and that is a complete drag. After 6 months I may began supplementing.
Still EBF. She turns six months this week and we'll start solids. She has two teeth and has not used them on me yet- yay!
She slept through the night in month 3, then went back to one night feeding (which is OK with me). But then with teething + growth spurt + a cold, nights have been REALLY rough the past two weeks.
I work 3 days a week. Pumping is not easy, I've been struggling to keep up some days. My supply seems so uneven... how is it even possible to pump 20 ounces one day and only 9 ounces the next?
I'm also 7 pounds below my pre-preg weight (haven't weighed this little since I was 19...) and I have to eat an insane amount of calories to keep my supply up and keep from losing more weight. Sometimes it's nice, other times I just feel gross from stuffing my face so much and it's hard to find healthy foods with enough calories.
I am really hoping that he we NEVER have formula, I supplemented when I worked with my last and regret it. Not to mention he slept worse when I added in formula.
I love being able to provide what my child needs to grow and thrive I plan to bf past a year this time.
Why would it be harder to wean from ebf than a bottle?? I found weaning from the breast so much easier than taking bottles away.
I work 5 days a week, full time. I pump 2 to 3x a day. I know I'm the odd one out, but I don't mind pumping at all. But I have an awesome job, understanding coworkers, and a room fridge that is only used for new mothers. I'm currently the only one using it. I actually think it's kind of cool awesome to see the milk!
No need for formula, I have a great supply. I did have a problem with oversupply at 8 weeks I plan on continuing to nurse past one year as long as that's what he wants.

Still breastfeeding here, never given her any formula. We do give her solid foods daily before her evening bath which she devours, but I haven't dropped any BF sessions.
We went through a bad sleep regression when DD was 3.5-4.5 months, but we've been out of it for a while now. I remember considering everything... maybe i wasn't making enough milk, maybe she's digesting it too quickly... I even held a can of formula in the grocery store, but couldn't bring myself to buy it. Now that's she's STTN for about 13 hours straight (some nights she does wake at 4am and I'll nurse her and put her right back down) I've certainly learned that the night wakings don't always have to do with hunger.
Babies are tough and they let us know when they are not happy about something! Good luck with whatever you decide to do.
Forgot to mention (and it never lets me edit a post on the ipad), but I have a great supply usually (in fact am feeding my LO and pumping enough for my friend who has supply issues), but my period just started again and I did see a dip in supply. As in I am still feeding my guy but instead of pumping an extra 20 oz a day, I'm only getting about 12 or so. I'm hoping it goes back up soon.
I also am below pre-pregnancy weight, and am planning to BF until at least a year.
I am still BFing. I had to introduce a couple bottles of formula a week because of low pumping output at work at 4mo1w and then started solids at 5mo. My supply is holding up though probably because I have had several 3-4 day weekends of straight bfing since I returned to work. Last week I worked from home all week due to Hurricane Sandy and I didnt pump once (yes!) and didn't need to use formula(double yes!!).
I still didn't get my period back and lo will be 6 months on Sunday.
Still EBFing and pumping at work. Tried to introduce solids to my 20 lb 5 month old and didn't go so well. Waiting a few weeks and will try again.
Finally improving on the sleep front. We are now down to getting up once to eat between 7-7 which I am totally fine with. This is a huge improvement. No cry it out, but I did help him to drop one of his feedings by rocking him back to sleep instead of feeding him. Took about 4 days, but that has had us drop 2 additional night wakings - hopefully it sticks. I think it will be about another 2 months before I try and consider having him drop the last MOTN feeding. His sister was able to go 7-7 around 6.5-7 months.
Still breastfeeding, but almost exclusively pumping it now. I work full time and bottles have just become easier. She now prefers the bottle and sometimes bites me (she has teeth now).
I plan to start dropping some pumps, using up the freezer stash and supplementing with formula. In a month or so. I am so torn and feel guilty, but my supply is dropping and I can't keep up with the pumping, work is just too hectic!
