Who else has a confession today? I've got two.
Yesterday I got a job and DH didn't again, so he stayed home with Lily and I worked. When this happened last Thursday he did a pretty good job of being a SAHD - everything went smoothly with Lily, he did a load of diapers like I asked him to and he prepared dinner when I got home. Yesterday didn't go quite as smoothly. Admittedly, he had a lot to deal with. They came to replace the back sliding door and it took a few hours, which meant Lily took a very short nap in the morning and he had to be with her all the time to keep her safe from the men working. She did, however, take a 2 hour nap in the afternoon (so she basically just reversed her nap schedule). He cleaned up the mess from the workers in the living room, but both his and Lily's lunch leftovers were still on the table when I came home and he was too frustrated/tired/cranky to go out to do the grocery shopping and other errands he needed to do. We ended up going out for dinner and he's doing the errands today after work. The confession part is that I kind of like that he had a rough day and didn't manage to get everything done that he meant to and we had to go out for dinner. I think he needed the reality dose that not every day at home with her is easy and that I often have to work quite hard to get everything done.
My other confession is much shorter. Although I've been itching to buy a house for many reasons for years, I have to admit that one of my biggest motivations right now is so that we can stop having BIL live with us. He's a sweetheart and I really like him a lot, but he's a huge slob and completely absent-minded and it doesn't matter how many times you tell him not to do something he keeps doing it.

Re: Tuesday Confessions
Oh I've got one..
L got so many presents at her party. We had over 80 people there and I swear I think half of them bought her some sort of toy. We opened up about 4 or 5 of those toys. The rest, we are planning to re-wrap them and give them to her for Christmas. We save money, and she won't remember opening them the first time. Do I feel guilty? A little, but not enough to not do it lol.
Hahahaha....we plan on doing the EXACT same thing! ;-)
OMG, you are a motherfrucking genius!
Thanks lol.. I would love to take full credit for the idea, but MH actually came up with that one!
my cousin has been doing this for the past four years with both kids. Her oldest even sees ALL of the gifts on the day of the party but is so overwhelmed she never notices that half of the toys disappear into the attic....and she is four. Then come Christmas, she reopens them and doesn't even realize its the same gift she got back in August. However, my cousin has to be careful with what holiday pictures she posts on FB so people don't notice her unwrapping a gift they got her months ago and say "hey didn't I buy her one of those for her birthday?"
Oh that is a very good point! Thanks for that tip .. that would be awkward haha
We are doing something similar. She didn't get a whole lot of toys, but I knew that she was going to get enough so we didn't buy her a birthday present and I am not going to buy her anything for Christmas either. Her grandparents are going to get her enough stuff that we won't have to worry about it.
