1. Name a fashion item or style that you revived and felt snazzy doing so? When I was around 13 or so I liked to take my Mom's old cardigan sweaters from the 50's and wear them with the buttons up the back (just like they did in the 50's.)

2. What is your favorite antique that you own? Walnut headboard that was my Grandmother's.

3. Have you refinished furniture or done your own upholstering? I've refinished a dresser once. I have several old pieces of furnture I would like to do, I just never get started. I don't upholster but I wish I had the talent.

4. Taken a recipe and made it more healthy or flavorful? What was the recipe and how did you improve upon it? Chicken alfredo. I add creole seasoning to the sauce.

5, Oddest thing you used duck tape to fix? I attempted to use duck tape to fix the spout on a watering can. Obviously that didn't work for long.

6. Do you darn socks? I did this when I first moved out on my own. Never again.

The periods that I seem to pull off best (without looking contrived) are the 40?s and 70?s.

2. What is your favorite antique that you own?

My grandfather?s Longines watch.

3. Have you refinished furniture or done your own upholstering?

Yes, but not very well.

4. Taken a recipe and made it more healthy or flavorful? What was the recipe and how did you improve upon it?

I do this all the time but particularly with dishes that are heavy on butter or cream. I have found that flavor out-wins fat everytime. It is amazing how much you don?t miss when you add garlic and olive oil.

5, Oddest thing you used duck tape to fix?

My husband?s Restoration Hardware booties that were leaking feathers all over the house.

Plaid vintage coat. I always get compliments when I wear it.

2. What is your favorite antique that you own?

Hrm. We have a lot of old stuff on purpose... it's our main style. I have this hand-carved wooden flower that looks like a giant closed bud. It has a carved wooden mechanism that you turn to open the flower. I just love it.

3. Have you refinished furniture or done your own upholstering?

Yes. Both!

4. Taken a recipe and made it more healthy or flavorful? What was the recipe and how did you improve upon it?

I love baking so I do a lot of stuff to recipes to make them better... not as much to make them healthy.

5, Oddest thing you used duck tape to fix?

I don't use it much. Hrm... I can't think of a thing!

6. Do you darn socks?

No. But I just had a dream about one of my pairs of socks, so I wore them the next day and blew the heel out.

1. Name a fashion item or style that you revived and felt snazzy doing so? I can't think of anything - I'm not all that stylish

2. What is your favorite antique that you own? a secretary desk that was my great-grandma's

3. Have you refinished furniture or done your own upholstering? I have refinished a few pieces (a dresser, headboard, coffee table, sofa table) and have also done some super basic upholstering (i.e. pull the seat off the cushion and replace the fabric). I've bought books on how to do more advanced upholstering - but haven't done anything yet. Well, not 100% true, I did upholster our fabric headboard.

4. Taken a recipe and made it more healthy or flavorful? What was the recipe and how did you improve upon it? I've taken a lot of "regular" recipes and weight watchers recipes, and come up with something in between.

5, Oddest thing you used duck tape to fix? Not duck tape, but I've used velcro to "hold up" baseboard molding that had come loose. It worked great!

Colored tights under dresses.

Some old family silverware that's from the 1600s.

I will be re-upholstering a chair when we move. It's my parents' but they're giving it to us since it fits out 1950s style living room.

I onced duct taped my bra. It was the only clean one I had & I discoved the fastener was half ripped off so I taped it. Then I did laundry, lol. This was back in undergrad.
