ever rented a bouce house?

Since apparently I am going all out for this first birthday party (yikes!), I was thinking of getting a bounce house. What the heck. Anyone ever rented one? I have about 10 children between the ages of 4-10 coming to the party other than DS, and I think this would keep them busy most of the party. I don't want anyone to get hurt, though, or knocking of heads! So is it even worth it?

  • I sister has a party rental business, so we have one at every birthday. Totally safe for that age. I see more trouble with tweens who try  to see how far they can go and push each other around.

  • We had one at DS's party.  Most kids know how to play in them safely.  It is the older ones who are reckless and don't always watch out for smaller kids.  We didn't have any issues.

  • I agree with PPs about watching the different ages... I don't think I would allow LO in one except with me, parents, and other children 2 and under. If it's mostly for older kids then that's a different story.

Honestly, and this is mostly just paranoia having seen it happen before, I likely wouldn't rent one. People are so sue-happy nowadays that if something were to happen, even if it was an accident, if it's on your property they could sue. What I would be more likely to do is go to one of the places where the bouncehouses are (many times you can have a party there for about the same price as renting one) and if something were to happen, it's on those who are running the operation, not you.Plus considering the time of year, it's nice to have everything indoors if it gets chilly.  Just my crazy 2 cents
