Baby Carrier for plus size mom

I don't know where to start looking for a baby carrier/wrap/sling that I can use that will fit a plus size mom.  I tried the Moby wrap at BRU and I am not sure if I was using it right but it seemed too small.  Any suggestions?

  • I'm a 20-22 size and the moby worked ok for us. We also have an ergo that fits ok. My favorite carriers are my ring slings though. they're definitely the best!

  • I am a size 18 and I have a Boba 3g carrier. I haven't used it yet but from my research it seems like it will be the best for my situation. My husband is small framed and it seems to be a good one that will work for both of us. I also really like that it converts to be used with a newborn. I found this chart helpful in looking at all the carriers.

  • I have a Beco Butterfly and, as a size 18, I have lots of extra room in the waist belt.

  • Ergo sport has longer straps than the regular ergo.  I'd look into that.

  • Ditto pp who said the ring sling - sleeping baby productions ring slings are awesome. I have a beco but I'm very self conscious about the straps digging in and I feel too uncomfortable to wear it. Its all personal preference of course, but the RS has worked great for us. And my DH even prefers it to the beco.
