Re: Weekly Toddler Check-In
What is your toddler really into right now/their new accomplishment?
She is starting to say more words with just a little prompting. She said swing yesterday and she tries to say cheese. She says night-night now too.

She's working on her canines so that's been fun. Hoping for a break from teething after these until her 2yr molars. She's an early teether but I'm hoping they will wait closer to 2yrs. She's been teething non-stop since 5m. Also, I haven't been feeling that great so it's a little tough.

Her dancing is just hilarious lately. I've been trying to catch it on video but once I pull my phone out she stops.
QOTW: How did your LO do with Halloween?
She was a grump butt that evening. We went to the mall and it was crazy busy but she seemed to do okay for about an hour. Then I took her home and we hit up our neighbors and she was in a great mood. So overall it went well. I was impressed she kept the hood of her costume on the whole time.
What is your toddler really into right now/their new accomplishment? Marching. He's been walking for weeks, but discovered that he can marchin place and turn around standing up. He'll do it for 30 mins at a time. March to one end of the room...march in place turning himself around...and then head back. Repeat until he falls down.
What challenges took place this past week? We're still having sleeping challenges. The time change didn't help, neither did getting shots last Friday. I'd made some progress (530!), but now with the time change we're back to 4am. He's also been a bear to get down for naps today...and suddenly he's getting pickier about what food he wants and when. I thought that came later!
Did your toddler do/say anything particularly funny recently? Not speaking yet, but he'll take the dogs toys and try and play with the dog with them. Dog isn't interested yet, lol.
QOTW: How did your LO do with Halloween? He didn't understand why I was putting him in that foolish costume (owl) or why we walked up to a strangers door and they put shiny things into his bucket. He wasn't scared though, and slept through the older ToT'ers (and my dog barking whenever someone came to the door)...so all in all a success!

What is your toddler really into right now/their new accomplishment?
Climbing on and off the side table by the couch. Pushing her stroller and pulling her dog toy.

MOLARS! Her 2nd one has yet to erupt which I believe explains her daytime and nighttime grief. Ouch!
Did your toddler do/say anything particularly funny recently?
We have one scratch-and-sniff book but now she sticks her nose up to other books too. She answers the phone by putting her forehead to it like she does to our ornery cat.
QOTW: How did your LO do with Halloween?
She surprised me by really enjoying it - which meant she went up and down driveways and front stoops for an hour. I was just going to take her to a few houses, but she insisted in going back out so we joined a group of neighbors and made the rounds.

What is your toddler really into right now/their new accomplishment? No new accomplishments, really. We are struggling with sleep and eating and that is taking all her energy.
What challenges took place this past week? Other toddler moms - this is the part where we can chime in and help one another with ideas/suggestions for working through challenges (behavior issues, etc.) Oof. We are having sleeping and eating issues. She's never been a good sleeper, and now she wakes up in the middle of the night, every night, and can't get back to sleep. Sometimes she's just wailing, sometimes she is screaming bloody murder. We've been putting her in our bed and she settles down but still isn't really sleeping. Bad dreams? Growing pains? We have no idea. I came back to bed at 4 this morning after feeding DS, and she was just sitting up in the middle of the bed waiting for me. She is chronically tired, and during the day she is a whiny mess, poor thing.
Oh, and we're not eating either. I hope this phase is a short one. DS is now the easy child, at 12 weeks old!
Did your toddler do/say anything particularly funny recently? She does not make the "L" sound much at all, so it's cute to hear her talk about Thomas the Tank Engine's two coaches, Annie and Clarabelle. It's not easy to say "Clarabelle" without an "L"!
QOTW: How did your LO do with Halloween? LOVED it. She wore her ducky costume all evening. We went to about 4 houses, and she got stage fright at the doors and didn't say anything, but she had a blast with all the kids coming to our door. She ran to the door every time the doorbell rang, yelling "Hawoween! Hawoween!". She was a big hit with the tween girls.
What is your toddler really into right now/their new accomplishment?
She's potty training! No poop in diapers since last Monday, woohoo!

We had a pretty decent week, no real new challenges.
Did your toddler do/say anything particularly funny recently?
She's been insisting on wearing all of her bows in her hair at the same time, so she walks around for a few minutes with about 10 bows of all shapes and sizes in her hair before violently shaking her head and making them all fall out.
QOTW: How did your LO do with Halloween?
She did ok. She wouldn't wear the hat part of her outfit, but she really liked going to the 6 neighbors we took her to and saying "boo" to them to get candy. (She can't pronounce "t" yet, so we taught her to say "boo.")

challenges: picked up a bad habbit from cousin. Yells "I don't want to" when told to do something. I am thinking of no more cousin time till em stops this.
Halloween: went great! Em handed out candy, and she would get a piece each time she did it. This way I know all the candy she got was safe [ paranoid about the new neighborhood ] and she had fun seeing all the kids.
