April 2012 Moms

Since it's election day (poll)

I know politics always get a little heated here on the bump, but I figured in a poll, answers could be anonymous.  I'm interested to see what the breakdown is. So, April mamas, who will you vote for today?[Poll]

Re: Since it's election day (poll)

  • Today is a pretty exciting day. My DH is OBSESSED with politics, so he took the day off to go work at the local call center, just in case people didn't realize today is Election Day, he's there to call and remind you (how annoying). Also, I'm pretty excited for our local propositions and especially our local Animal Shelter Bond. As far as the Presidentail race.....well I live in a State where my vote really doesn't mean anything.......the last time my state voted for my registered party was 1972. Anyone who lives in a swing state should feel lucky.....your vote REALLY does matter!

Lucky! My mom lives in WI and I really hope she goes out and votes today; she's not really "into" it, if you know what I mean. Also, Lina....just wanted to tell you that your new pictures are beautiful!

  • My state is also pretty much already decided I believe. DH and I will be heading to vote after work regardless. This will be DH's first time voting and he is currently doing his research for the questions and local candidates. Makes me a proud wife since neither one of his parents have EVER voted.

  • I live in Ohio, and since we are all voting for "The President of Ohio," I'm pretty sure I have to vote or someone will come and get me.

Funny story though. A girl on FB that I graduated with (in 2001) posted, "This is the 3rd time I've got to vote, and it never gets old!" I wanted to reply, "You know you get to vote every year, right?" but I restrained myself.

Same here! I did the absentee ballot this year and after seeing the lines I am glad I did it and will do it that way moving forward.

it only took me 10 min in line and another 10 min if that after I got my ballot...wasn't bad at all.

  • Also live in Ohio.  I had to wait an hour to vote this morning.  I have never had to wait before.  Well worth it though!

I still have to go after I get home from work and nurse LO first. It's only about 7 houses up from mine, but I'm dreading a long line, since it will be so late in the evening. I left at 6am though for work, an hour away from home, so it's my only option left. I wanted to do absentee... but I couldn't find a stamp. Embarrassed

Wow! There were more cars in the parking lot for workers than voters, so I was up the street, through the voting line, cast my ballot and got home before DH could finish making a package of rice!

  • I'm also in Ohio (Columbus) and luckily I had no wait at all.  I passed my polling location on the way to work and there was a major line.  I'm glad it thinned out later.

  • I'm in Columbus too! Hubby went around 3 this afternoon and was done in about 10 minutes! Guess I should have left work early to vote instead of being an hour late!
  • I'm in PA and I did my civic duty this morning.  L did a big doodie this morning.  We're both feeling content with ourselves.
