Post partum infection

Had a fever all day Sunday and saw my OB first thing Monday. She diagnosed me with post partum endometritis. It's an infection of the uterine lining. Explains the fever, abdominal pain and cramping and increased bleeding and I passed a Few more clots too. No fun! But I'm glad I was diagnosed quickly. Taking two kinds of antibiotics for 7 days. All safe for baby while nursing, though I still confirmed with my OB, baby's pediatrician, pharmacist and lactation consultant! Paranoid mom lol. Ugh this stinks but I am happy to be on the road to recovery. My little man is 2 weeks old today!

Yikes! I'm glad you got diagnosed quickly and are getting treatment. I hope you get to feeling better very soon.
I had a bad UTI when DS was about a week old. I couldn't shake a headache and then realized I was running a decent fever. I remember being so worried that I'd passed something to him as I didn't know what I had and I very rarely get a fever. Thankfully, my doctor diagnosed me on a weekend and got me onto antibiotics that day. I didn't have the usual UTI signs that clue me in thanks to all of the PP stuff going on already. I started feeling better within a few days and it was all okay.
