I was told today my result came back high and outside the normal range for the screening. My midwife didn't call me back to tell me what my actual # was, but does anyone here know if the higher the number increase your chance of a NTD?
I think most people are used to referring to it as the quad screen or the afp test, that test appears to have a higher incidence of false positives, I've gotten a false + and my dr. told me they usually do a second blood draw to confirm for that reason. You should definately call your midwife back though and get more detail and find out what your recommeneded follow should be. Best wishes that everything turns out normal.
