I'm nosy....

The CS Contempt hearing was held last Monday, and TN still hasn't forwarded any info to CA letting me know what transpired at that hearing.  I've asked for an update and CA sent a request to TN, but said it can take 2 weeks before we hear anything.  Ugh.  I really want to know what happened!!

Also, random amounts have been getting direct deposited from DCSS the last 2 weeks.  Not round, neat amounts like $100.  But weird amounts such as $82.47, $102.16, etc.  I'm not complaining about receiving payments, but I'm curious how these payments are being obtained.  I called DCSS today to ask, and all they could tell me was that the payments were "not paid willingly".  Meaning, either a bank account has been hit or some sort of wage garnishment is going on.  So now I'm even more curious about what happened at that hearing and how this money is being procured. 

Yes, I'm nosy like that.  I know I should just be happy about receiving some sort of CS, but I really want to know how they managed to finally get any money from him after nearly 7 years of nothing.

    Call the clerk of court for the county in TN and ask them to fax or send you a copy of the "order" or whatever transpired.

    Yeah for $$!

    Also check online. A lot of that stuff is public record. I know FL is.

    Tried this.  Since DCSS is handling the matter, the Court won't give me anything.  Everything has to go through DCSS.  So I have to wait for TN DCSS to get in contact with CA DCSS.

    I just hope he's finally facing some sort of consequences for his failure to provide for his children.

    Ugh, I tried this too.  But since CA DCSS is handling the matter, TN won't talk to me.  The worker told me she can only discuss it with CA DCSS (in essence they're my representation).  So I asked her when she'd be talking to someone out here with an update and I was told within 2 weeks.  Um, if you have time to answer your line when I call, how come you don't have time to call CA DCSS now and give them an update?

    When I get weird funky amounts like that it means it's withheld from BD's check but he hit the withholding cap so they couldn't take the full amount of the order. This happens with my ex because he works weird odd jobs and mostly part time. In the past, SM sends another check through for the remaining portion of the monthly amount due minus whatever was withheld from his check.

    It sounds like his wages are being garnished. My X has his wages garnished and I get weird numbers(once I got a payment of like 15.99...why they couldn"t add a penny is beyond me). Sounds like he's getting more than just a slap on the wrist.

    I would be dying to know.

    So.. should we take bets on how long it takes him to leave this job and go on the lamb again? 

    I hope he got his azz handed to him.  I hope the judge was having a really bad day, better again I hope it was a divorced female judge, who pointed out a few home truths.  I also hope his wife was there to hear them.

    I'm actually wondering if he went and got a rinky-dink job at McDonald's part-time just so the State would have something to garnish and is still working for cash on the side.  I wouldn't put it past him to start laying the groundwork for a modification based on some measly 15 hour a week job.  I doubt a bank account is being hit this frequently, and he's been really diligent about keeping his name off everything to avoid collection.  And the random amounts I've received the last couple weeks barely add up to a month's worth of CS.  There's no arrearages or interest accounted for in those payments so he's still in the hole.  A lot.

    I really hope he got his ass handed to him as well.  Although regardless of what a Judge might say to him, his wife and mother will never think ill of him.  In their eyes he will always be the victim and I will always be the evil c-crown that is forcing him to support his children.  Because really, how dare I get married and earn a living and expect my children's father pitch in and help support them when me and my husband are perfectly capable of doing it all?  Confused

    Many courts use the PACER system as a method for electronic filing. They're updated almost as soon as anything new is filed. You might check the court's website, or google whether TN uses PACER. They charge $0.10 per page, so it pays to know the case number (which you can get from the court, or look up on courtlink). I've used it to keep track of some cases, hopefully you find this helpful :)
