Lunch

I am trying to spice up DD's lunch. She could eat a sandwich everyday but I hate to do that. I give her soup if we make it for dinner and lunchables don't work for her b/c she eats those really slow and doesnt' finish which = hungry after school. I think she plays with them.

What do you pack for you LO for lunch?

 Thanks!

Re: Lunch

  • We get the school lunch most of the time, but when she gets lunch from home, we usually pack sliced turkey or ham, some pretzels or crackers, a piece of cheese, and some fruit - strawberries, bananas or grapes are what we normally have around.

We do leftovers from dinner, or beans and rice, occassionally chicken nuggets and mac & cheese.

  • At home we have leftovers a lot or grilled sandwiches. For school DS loves hard boiled eggs, lunchmeat "roll ups (roll ham or turkey around a cheese stick, or roll both into a tortilla), Greek yogurt is great for protein too!

  • DS likes deli turkey but not on a sandwich. I buy a thick slice and then cut it in cubes. I have also sent pasta with marinara sauce(you could do any sauce) in his thermos, mac n cheese, chicken nuggets, baked chicken(leftover from dinner).

Other things I pack are cheese cubes, string cheese, yogurt, applesauce, black olives, fruit, crackers, pretzels, leftover veggies or rice.
