  Share your updates and vents: After getting back an "abnormal" on a quad screen I never asked for last week- my anatomy scan was bumped to tomorrow- 11/1 at 10:45 am ET. Instead of being excited and looking forward to this appointment, I approach it with mixed emotions and trepidation. Good thoughts welcome!

  Update:
  Had my U/S w/the PN (whose job it is to scare the crap out of you in a nice way if you're AMA )-- everything looks good developmentally speaking. They couldn't point to any abnormalities. PN was still talking statistics and how an U/S isn't 100%. But, my OB was very optimistics saying how she thinks we are on track to deliver a healthy baby BOY! (found out it is a boy today )-- And so am I> DH wants to pursue a conversation about an amnio, but I'm not feeling like it's necessary at this pt. I go back in 4 weeks for another U/S.

  I have an excellent poker face, and rarely get ruffled.  This makes me the perfect person to use the fart machine on unsuspecting newbs at the office. (Yes we are extremely mature).  Did it again yesterday - was way too much fun.

  Today is my Due Date!!  I have maintained for a while now that I would go over by a day or 2 and so far its looking good, however if baby doesn't come on his own by my appt on Monday we will induce shortly there after due to my AMA and GC, however Dr said yesterday that given how my numbers have been rock solid and steady with very little effort on my part that I technically don't have GD...  Much agreed Dr sir, Much agreed.

  QOTW:  I have a fake tooth because I knocked my front tooth out jumping on the bed with DH when I was 22.

  Updates and vents: Great update!  DH got to feel the baby kick for the first time.  Now I have to get him to understand that she will not kick on command and he just has to wait for it. 

  I had to go to L&D yesterday because the medical unit in my office said that I had dangerously high blood pressure.  They were going to admit me but then when my labs came back the doctors suspected that either the nurse was not taking it correctly or her cuff needs calibrated.  The good part was that I got to check out things at the L&D department where I am going to deliver.  I really like everyone there.  I did not want to be there but the experience comforts me that when it is time, it will be a positive experience.

  I did get home from the hospital in time to give out candy for trick or treating.  I did not trick or treat as a kid.  For many years, I have been too sad on Halloween to hand out candy.  I was voted best candy on my block this year.

  Danuali - I bet that was the baby that you felt.  It wil get stronger and you will start to learn the baby's personality.  It will be so exciting for you.

  Welcome back! San Diego is a wonderful place to visit. (I went once for a work meeting, while I was 7 months pg with DD)

   I'm pretty skilled at imitating various accents, including getting roped into coaching my actress sister on occasion.
  I can also make some pretty weird noises, like the "Wah wah wah" of a cartoon whoops... or the Charlie Brown adult noises.

   39 weeks today. and I'm going for another appointment this afternoon to see if all of that movement and occasional cramping means that LO has been making more progress towards heading out or if he's just been using my innards for a punching bag. I originally thought he might come a little late like his big sister, but more recently, I've been feeling his might be a little early. (Unfortunately, he didn't make Halloween baby like DH was hoping. )
  As for venting... I am feeling SO SORE and achey! And I hope I don't catch DD's cold leaving me coughing and sneezing in delivery.

(Hey, why not?)   Well for my 30th I took an almost month long trip all over Europe with a bunch of strangers and had the best time.  Also pg related...I was 18 when my sister was born and in the delivery room.  My mom was med free and that scares the crap out of me now to go through that!

  Share your updates and vents:  Today I had my monthly appt.  I got a surprise ultrasound so that was great!  Baby was moving around a ton and it was just so nice to see him/her again   If my dh was there I would have asked to find out the sex but I couldn't.  I will have to wait another month.

  I have to do another 24 hour urine on Sunday.  They told me that I would need to do them frequently throughout the rest of this pregnancy.  So gross.

  Share your updates and vents: We had our first ultrasound today and got to see baby!  Measuring right as expected (7 weeks 1 day) and heartbeat at 148.  Super excited, and happy to get some good news this week.

  QOTW: this is a completely useless fact, I'm a complete food slob. Barely a day goes by when I don't drop something on my clothes when I'm eating. I can be as careful as can be and still I'll manage to get dirty. My drycleaner loves me!

  Update and Vents: Not much to update, my sister had her baby girl on 10/30! 6lbs, little nugget! I don't think I'll be so lucky, I was a bigger baby as was DH . Cervix check in a week and next appt on 11/17, hoping maybe we can know gender before Thanksgiving! The hurricane was really devastating, beyond what even pictures can relay, I've been stuck at home all week since commuting would take hours, DH has been riding his bike to work. We're thankful to have not lost power or any property damage. I hope things get back to normal relatively soon.

  QOTW: I have more useless trivia in my brain than should be humanly possible. My sister calls me Cliff from Cheers, but she forgets that unlike Cliff, my facts are correct! LOL I can also have entire conversations with my sister that consist of movie and tv quotes.

  Update and Vents: Not much I haven't already reported. I'm just not-so-quietly hoping that my ridiculous m/s will end at 12 weeks. I cannot go through much more of this. We've also started calling this baby "p?pite" aka "The Nugget."

  QOTW: When I drive in San Francisco, a crazy aggressive taxi driver persona comes out in me. My friends call her "City Amel" they always make me drive because I know my way around the city! Update: I graduated from the RE this week and have my first OB appt next week. I'm glad I don't have to drive to Sacramento for my RE appts anymore! I think I'm starting to come out of the feeling crappy part of being PG and I'm really looking forward to feeling better.   Hmm...I love heavy alternative/metal music, its odd to others because i appear preppy and prissy. My teenage son is the same :
  Updates: a/s Monday! We are bringing the kids, they are so thrilled! youngest is 8, so good ages Tuesday tho is my first 17p shot, can't imagine 18 weeks of them. Pretty stressed about it; the doc visits make me nervous, I'm still not sure how much they will cost, and they may prevent me from going into labor naturally and I have always had unmedicated births. Hopefully the contractions I've already started having will stop and it will be all worth it getting a full term baby and being able to work. On a happier note, my belly really popped tho with my lil bit of lost weight and its fun when people figure out I'm pregnant :

  I had a trying week. DH was sick all week so I had to take care of him while trying my best to not get sick myself (thankfully succeeded!). And then I had the most excruciating night leg cramps that I was in tears suffering through them. Trying to drink more water daily in hopes that helps them, please! But on the bright side, LO was great and has begun kicking more. He's gonna be an active boy!
