Can we talk Black Friday

Are any of you planning on shopping for baby on Black Friday? DH and I were debating this last night and unsure if we will or not. It really isn't out of the danger zone but I'm not sure if I can resist the sales! Plus we don't plan on telling our parents until Christmas so it may be logistically difficult.

What are your plans for Black Friday shopping?

Re: Can we talk Black Friday

  • I have never went Black Friday shopping so I don't plan on going this year either.  I use that day to decorate the house for Christmas.  Cyber Monday sales are more my style.

  • I always LOVE Black Friday and I'm just hoping that I won't have bad nausea so that I can be out in full effect! I wouldn't be too worried about buying a few neutral baby items if you want but I wouldn't buy anything big like furniture yet.
Can't wait to shop 'til I drop!

  • I'm a Black Friday crazy lady ;) I will definitely be going out but I'm going to resist from buying anything baby related. I will admit that my cart does wander over near the baby section of target but I just kind of look. Once we know the gender, all bets are off

  • My husband and I love Black Friday shopping. I don't have any plans on buying anything baby related but if I see see something I like and it's a good deal I'll grab it for sure.

  • I'm pretty sure we're not going to go shopping on the Black Friday. It's hard enough to go shopping with a toddler on a regular day, it would be a nightmare to go out with all the crowds.

Also we have almost everything we need from DD, so we'll wait till we know what the sex is for the rest of the shopping.

  • I hadn't really thought about it, but it just feels way to early to me. It would have to be a great deal on a big item for it to be worth it at this point, and I'm not ready to start shopping for the big stuff yet (or the little stuff, for that matter).

Plus, when I told my mom our news she was ecstatic for about 45 seconds until she realized she had to keep our secret until Christmas, at which point she looked absolutely crestfallen. Her response was, "Well, I won't tell anybody, but you can't keep me from shopping!" So I'll leave it up to her for now :)

We are impatiently awaiting the day we can say goodbye to his girlfriend Ivy for good.
  • If I can find an insanely good deal on something I know I want regardless of the sex (crib, bottles, diapers, clothes) I *may* pick it up since we won't be having a shower. Everything else I'm going to wait until after we find out the sex. This Black Friday will be full of shopping for DS.

  • It would be a cold day in Hell that I would get up at 2 am to go buy stuff.  That being said, I would buy baby stuff if they were good deals (just not when it requires me to get up in the middle of the night)!

  • I don't shop on Black Friday, but I love cyber Monday. If I see anything I just have to have while I'm browsing online, I might buy it. Nothing big, but maybe an outfit or cloth diapers or something.

  • I love Black Friday shopping, but no baby purchases.  Llast year at that time (we are on almost the exact same schedule as I was with my first pregnancy... EDD was 7/14 last time, is 7/7 now) was when I started spotting and lost the little one a couple of days later.  I was hesitant to buy anything then, and I will be now, too.
