April 2012 Moms

Did you survive?

Did you survive the end of daylight savings?

I fully anticipated a 4:30a wakeup this morning, but Micah completely changed his schedule this weekend and only woke up at 5:45a when I had to get him up to nurse before leaving for work. I was shocked! My boobs on the other hand were quite confused, because they thought it was 5:45 at 4:45 and almost started leaking! I never expected that!

How did LO handle the change?

Re: Did you survive?

  • Phew!

It went better than expected here; Shawn was up a little early yesterday, like 20 minutes, and was up at his normal time today.  I think pushing his naps and bedtime back a bit helped a ton.  So yay!

  • Much better than expected here too. L stayed up until 10 minutes before her regular bedtime, and wasn't even grouchy. Put her down, and she slept 9 hours as usual, so up at 5:15, which used to be 6:15, and then back down now for a while longer. I'm hoping this trend continues!

  • We too did good! L had her shots and the flu shot Friday and ended up with her first fever saturday. So she was up for an hour around 1am, then got up at 6:30. Last night went to sleep at her normal bedtime of 8:30 and up at 6:30. I am happy!

  • We survived but are very tired. One was up at 530 yesterday and the other 630. Today both up at 5...

  • Much better than expected--kind of like your story!

Yesterday was not awesome--he woke up at 4:55 (ie: 5:55), but we stretched his schedule all day so it would be on the new time.

This morning, he woke up at 6:45! WAY later than usual. Keep up the good work, baby:)

  • It went great for us also, she went to bed at 8:00 lat night and I got her up at normal time this morning, I guess I was worried about nothing.

  • I survived but like you my boobs did not. I had a noticeable leak at work just now. My boss saw it and instead of telling me privately she announces it! Sooo embarrassed! I think only a couple of people heard but still. I am pumping a half hour early because of it. I guess its back to breast pads. I haven't leaked in forever. I hate the time change!!!!

  • Thought we did alright during the day yesterday.... he did get up at 4:30 (after the time change) which to him, was his regular 5:30 wake up time.  I was able to nurse him and get him back down for 2 more hours.   He did alright through the day yesterday and we managed to keep him up an hour later, however, the overnight last night was pretty brutal.  Up 3x and up for the day at 5:30.  Ugh - tired mama here.

  • DD stayed up until 7:30 (her usual bedtime), so that was good. And then she slept 9 hours straight last night! She did make us get up before 6 though, but we've been doing that anyway, so basically the time change didn't seem to affect her much.

  • She did well! She was up a lot on Saturday night anyway, (teething is a b!tch). She was up at her normal time yesterday, passed out almost 2 hours early last night, but slept until her normal time this morning! So far, so good! *phew!*

  • Ugh! We survived, but we are exhausted! She's gotten up at 4:45am both mornings. Terrible. I even tried moving her bedtime later and no go. It's going to take days to get back to normal.

  • The boys have not really had a set schedule for wake up anyway, and Mike has been randomly STTN, then up 3x a night, then STTN.....So that extra hour of sleep we were supposed to get on Sunday morning? Did not happen.  I had a toddler come into our room at 7:30 instead of 8:30 to tell us it was daytime and time to get up!  They went to bed a little earlier last night, but I had to wake up Mike to go this morning after he went back to sleep after his his 6-7ish feed.
