Birthday madness

I do a big first birthday party for my kids, and for DD, I've since done very small, immediate family only parties (like less than 6 people). Well, now I know why! DS's party is getting out of hand. Not in a bad way, but I am very very busy this week at work, and to think of everything I have to do Friday into Saturday is nuts.

It also doesn't help that we went to a family wedding Friday night, and people were asking if I was having a party, I don't think they were itching for an invite, just making conversation. But, it wasn't MY family, it was DH's, and I knew what to say - yes, we are having a small family party. But DH didn't know what to say, and I caught him inviting more people! Like, third cousins and on down! Nuts.

    I know how you feel! My DD's birthday is this Sunday and I'm the one getting carried away with it all.  She's having a cupcake theme party and everything I see that's cupcake I'm buying.  I keep getting more idea's as time goes on and I'm spending $$ like crazy.  Not the intention I originally had but what the heck.....they only turn 1 once!!
