Having a cold... sign of labor?

I just had my final baby shower and one of DH's cousins noticed my stuffy nose and asked if I was finishing up a cold.  I replied yes and then she got a big smile on her face and said "I've heard a lot of women who get colds at the very end of their pregnancy and then go into labor shortly after."

This was the first time I have heard this one.  Have any of you heard this before?  I know a couple days ago a few of you were experiencing cold symptoms.  I wonder if this OWT holds any merit.

    I've never heard this and I doubt there's any truth to it. That said, I've had a terrible mutant cold for a week... so my water should be breaking any second.

    I've never heard this and am currently in the middle of a cold.  I hope it's not true because I want to be able to kiss and snuggle my LO as much as possible and would hate for him/her to get their first cold from their mom in the hospital.

    I've never heard of that, but I guess it's possible.  However, I had a cold for about 5 days last week and am still very pregnant.  I've got my fingers crossed for you though!

    Haha, you can tell we are in our birth month!  I know it's a stretch, but hey - we are all just waiting for the same thing to come.  Let's make it a new wives tale, lol.

    I've heard of this with flu like symptoms.  For me I've been feeling terrible for the past 3 days, just starting to feel better.  I've been hoping it is a starting point for baby to be here soon, but I know I'm wishing for nothing.  she will come out when she wants to come out haha.

    I had a cold the last week of my pregnancy with DD1 and currently have a cold now. And my best friend had a cold the last week of her pregnancy with her second. However, I think if there is any correlation it would be to our immune systems being pretty weak right now, not of impending labor. :( I wish though!

    This! It would be nice if this was true. I currently have a pretty stuffy nose, but I think it's just from our weak immune systems. I have heard some people say this before, but I doubt it's an accurate correlation.
