For the babies eating table food

Do these babies have teeth? Olivia still had no teeth and I am afraid to give her real food, although I am hoping she will eat some thanksgiving food. When we give her "lumpier" stage 2 food she sometimes gulps and seems like she has a hard time swallowing.

  • Asher has two teeth on the bottom and he eats table food. I just make sure whatever he eats is soft enough that he can gum it.

  • They each have 2 bottom teeth.  Most things I give them are soft but I also give them some harder things to gum.  They love chewing on heels of bread.  I have a calzone this weekend and cut off the two tips and gave it to them and they chewed on that for a long time.  If you do that just watch them very, very carefully because it softens up and the girls each broke off a huge chunk in their mouth that I had to fish out.  They love to shove as much food as possible in their mouth so we have to be very careful with them.

  • Laura only has one tooth (and just barely). She's been eating table food since before it came in. She just gums the food and either swallows it or spits it back out if she doesn't like it, or if it's too big or hard for her to swallow. These days she's eating bigger chunks and spitting food out less and less.

  • Jackson has 2 bottom teeth. However, he was eating table food before he had teeth. Before he had teeth, we just made sure that it was small enough and soft enough. We still make sure of that to this day, but we are trying new foods all the time  with him. He loves sloppy joes! The other night we went out to eat and for some reason on my plate they gave me a huge slice of canteloupe...so I cut off the rine (sp?) and gave the entire slice to him. He ate the entire thing during our dinner! He loved it! It kept him occupied and we enjoyed a quiet dinner! When it got to the end and he could put the entire thing in his mouth, I just cut it into pieces.

  • Lucas has 8 teeth but he started eating decent sized chunks of food with only the bottom two teeth. Sometimes I feel like I have to watch him more carefully now, especially with things like bread because he can bite such big chunks off.
  • Dalilah has zero teeth and has been done with pures for over a month. Don't underestimate the power of those gums!

  • Lucia has 2 bottom teeth, but she started eating solids way before her teeth came in. She doesn't chew with those teeth, she chews with her gums where her molars will eventually be. When she eats cheerios you can see her put them back there, then hear the crunch. At firstand still with softer foods she would just put them against the roof of her mouth and smoosh them with her tongue.

  • No teeth over here, but he eats finger food like a champ.  Right now, he's snacking on pieces of cheese and cut-up grapes.  He has had all sorts of meat, fruit, and vegetables.  He mashes the heck out of them with his gums just fine.

  • A has 2 bottom teeth. She only really uses them to bite something, usually my arm. She 'chews' with her gums where her molars will be.

  • My rule of thumb with Emily right now is if I can mash it up enough with my fingers to swallow, she can mash it with her gums, if not it needs to be small enough peices that she can swallow without much chewing.

She has 2 bottom teeth but doesnt really use them to chew unless it is to bite a peice of something off.

All babies gag when they are learning to eat real food, it is their way of learning when a peice of food is to big to swallow and needs to be chewed more. I just make sure that the food is soft enough that she wont choke.

  • Lauren has no teeth. That auto corrected to feet for a second! I was like, that's not right!

She eats graham crackers, puffs, soup, French fries, spaghetti, etc. all soft stuff that teeth or feet aren't required for.

  • DD has two bottom teeth, but we've been giving her table food from the beginning.

We mostly give her softer things to eat, but she loves to knaw on hard things too (raw carrots, pickles, etc). The only thing we've given her that she had trouble with was apple slices. Her two little teeth kept breaking the wedges and she would get huge chunks in her mouth, so we'll wait awhile before we try apple slices again!

  • 6 teeth just started puffs.
    I'm paranoid.
I let him taste what I'm eating... Not really EAT it though, I'm still building up the courage for that day

  • DS doesn't have any teeth and can gum pretty much anything!

  • DS has zero teeth but I was surprised that he used his gums to chew everything up! If its a cracker or cookie or even the puffs you can hear him chew into them! He eats everything we have given him so far and I do make sure though that the sizes of the pieces of food I give him are small just in case. But so far so good!.he eats everything from cookies to meats to pasta to veggies!
